So here we are logging on getting set up for day 2 of EH and looking forward to another Woushi downing when low and behold Guk goes down. (it certainly could not have anything to do with the VG patch either).

Of course the petitions were met with their usual "customer first" attitude from SOE saying that their shit crashing had nothing to do with them and they can not reset our timers.

Please fucking expalin to me how you can have a zone that is set up to be done in more then 1 day and when you have a server side issue not at least have the common fucking sense to reset timers for those of us where were in the damn zone.

It's not like you could not verify that we were in there, or take 2 fucking minutes out of your life to say "sorry our bad, let us reset those pesky timers for you. enjoy the rest of your raid"

Nice to see that 2 things in life you can still count on. getting analy fucked by a wooden baseball bat is gonna make you bleed, and SOE customer service is a fucking joke!

When you say your server went down, do you mean a regular morning "patch" type downtime, or an unexpected downtime in the middle of the day? Just trying to figure out if the server down you are talking about involved a patch or a server problem.

nope i mean like 7:30pm est saturday night out of the blue the servers just go down for 30 minutes.

MM ody is a little off in his estimates, he was afk when it happened so forgive him.
Guk came down at approximately 5pm est today. No warning and no explanation given. After many petitions we basically got a sorry and a big fuck you from sony. As i mentioned before we were given no explanation as to why guk went down so left give the reason i believe it happened. Guk also host the log in server for eq2. We are usually first to crash and last to come up anytime server are brought down. As many of you probably know preorder vangard launched yesterday. So today at approximately 5pm est they brought vg down for a quick patch. Hmm i wonder if the 2 could be related.

So I'd like to extend a big fuck you to soe from all of us on the guk server in eq2 for fucking us with yet another broken ass game you are reusing your same shitty servers to run.

P.S. maybe im wrong and the events were totally unrelated but i highly doubt it. If so you still brought the server down and kicked mine and 2 other guilds out of EH. Then refused to help any of them get back in.

I thought current SoE policy was to reset instance timers upon request when an instance or server crashed, when that wasn't related to a regular patch or maintenance downtime.

Did that change, or am I wrong?

They will only reset the "failed" lockout timers. Once you hit a Success timer, even if it is from just killing 1 trash mob depending on the zone, you are stuck, and policy (which may or may not vary from GM to GM) says they can't do anything.

I've heard rumors that they are discussing another server merge because of "low populations" even though some servers have over 100,000 accounts!
My guess is instead of merging servers so they don't have to buy new ones for PvP like KoS, they're debating the idea so they don't have to buy as many new servers for VG

Pffft bite your tongue. My lowbie alts are having a hard time finding anything decent to hunt because of the overcrowding in the dungeons.

You try going to RoV at night...ANY night. It's horribly overcrowded. I thought that it'd lighten up a bit with the release of EoF in the newer dungeons...NOPE. And that's just one example.
