Re: Do we honestly pay a company...
I love when people stick up for anything just because they want to slam someone for being upset. Like right-wing religous zealots who tell people its unpatriotic to protest. You guys wanna be taken advantage of by SoE. You don't even expect a product that works. What if you bought a car and it malfunctioned as often as EQ2Players.com or worse, as much as the game. This is the only area of industry that I know of where the consumer fights for the company no matter how bad the product comes out. Go ahead keep defending SoE... oh its so hard to manage forums its so much work they must have good people on it... oh my god! Do they pay you to say this shit or are you just that brainwashed? Have you guys even ever played other MMO's you do realize they are not all this bugged and plenty have sites that manage to stay up. Fly For Fun a free korean MMO has an infinitely better record than this piece of shit game. I have decided I am done with EQ2. I have a new career beginning and I need to find out just how much time I will have to game before I decide what to play. I have followed vanguard for a few years and I am going to give it a shot even though they did bring SoE in to handle account management. Good luck EQ2ers, I hope one day the site and the game are worth paying to use.
<3 Mordi, you crack me up! haha
/HuGs LDL, I will be around to hang out and say hi from time to time, good luck with the rest of the Avatars, I know you will keep rockin that shit Strike.

Don't pay for it if you don't like it.

LOL
Did you realize that an MMO of EQ2 scale is more code than the Operating
System you have on your computer?
Software of this scale will never ever be bug free, just look at your OS
how old is it and how many bugfixes has there been for it?

I'm fairly certain you are wrong about that. Code and environment data (models, textures, sound) are not the same thing.

I did read the announcement actually, I still think its weak-sauce, I guess I just expect more than the rest of you, not surprising its probably why I pwn all of you as well. There was not just one time, or one period that I even mentioned the site being unstable, it frequently is before and since the new system was setup. I hardly give two shits about the forums being, I just think that the fact that SoE struggles with them often, is probably a good indicator as to why EQ2 has so many flaws that they have been avoiding fixing since release and instead spending time on adding the gay guys from Night At the Roxbury and giving us zones like Frostfell... but I guess its good Frostfell is probably about the only zone Coochy can really PWN.

OMG, you're SO right! This SoE cock has been blocking my view of the fucking flame forum. Thank you for rectifying my situation! /end snark
If you don't really care about the forums being down, why post a flame about it? Unless of course you're one of those manginas that just loves to whine and has yet to remove the sand from the vag.
And if the game REALLY bothers you that much, why do you still play it?

You know how actual big an OS is?
Check your kernel size...
Mine's about 1mb...
You'd be amazed about how many bugs
fit into that one but if you want to see
a rough figure I suggest you www.kernel.org
Now I know that isnt the windows kernel but
I'd be suprised if it had less bugs in it, I would
even bet a great deal of money that the number
of bugs/fixes are roughly the same for them.
A fairly good estimate is that you'll get one bug
for every 1000 lines of coding btw.

Just because something compiles into 1 small binary, doesn't mean it's not gigantic. Not to mention, most kernels are compiled specifically and only include a small portion of everything, or they are modular and have the modules laying outside the core(which btw, in case you didn't know most linux kernels are compiled that way and in reality the small 700kB kernel that you boot off of is in reality loading well over 5MB at least of more modules from an image). So please, shut the fuck up about how dumb you are, kernels are vastly more complex, larger than EQ2.
And please, for the love of god, STOP HITTING RETURN for a new line. We live in the 21st century, lines automatically scroll down for you without hitting return, shit in the 20th century they weren't even necessary!

*laughs and laughs*
Sure I use modular kernels for workstations because it's much easier when
you change around a bit.
For servers however I do prefer static kernels and please show me one person
who uses a linux kernel of 5mb. If you're kernel is that big then you really
need to learn you system cause there aint no way in hell you need that
much.
A static kernel for my current workstation (recompiled to be static instead of
modular) is about 1.4mb in size and I have everything I could ever need
in that including support for some devices I havent even installed in my
computer so please Pinski stfu and learn Linux before you speak.
