Actually, if I were the Ranger up against you here, I'd be asking for a different group setup from you. Mainly because what benefits an Assassin doesn't always help the Ranger - thanks to eleventy million melee procs and about two that work off ranged...

But I agree that out of the two Predators, Assassins get the better utility. And when you compare the two Ancient Teachings... Well, lets not, since I'll turn a fetching shade of green to match my armour.

I've moved this thread and stickied this in the class section and added a poll. This will replace the old KoS thread we had on the same subject.

I voted Necromancer. Lifeburn is just ridiculous and they can FD to get rid of aggro.

Similar group setups as in what will help me, will help him equally as much.

Apply Poison is nice, but it's a single target buff only, so that isn't utility, just a cool proc to put on one person, who can't use poisons(bard, fighter, mage, healer). So, on a brawler and berserker is really the only classes that benefits that much....i guess bards too, but eh.

actually transferring to a tank in probably one of the most useful things i can do in addition to dps, 9/10 im setup to transfer, very rarely am i setup in a pure dps group for myself.

As far as apply poison goes, it comes down to boosting raid dps, i think its a pretty hot proc tbh, kinda wish it was conc but thatd be waaaaay overpowered

Necros may be overpowered, but Illusionists are far and away the most overpowered class. They can solo more content than a Necro can, they can do just a bit(100-200) below the DPS of a well played Summoner when using their pet and grouped with a Troubador/Wizard(Precise Note+Ice Lash+Dissonant Note). They offer the same utility as a Summoner at that point as well. They are pretty much THE overpowered class in this game. Want to solo in Castle Mistmoore? Yah, we can do that. Want solo any instance where you can mez a mob? Yah, we can do that. Want to good DPS on a raid? Yah, we can do that if you're not incompent and are placed with a Troubador(without the Troubador, we are pretty balanced on raid DPS).

Overall, Illusionists are the most overpowered class for everything due to what they can do, what they add, etc. Sure Summoners can do sick DPS, but they aren't that versatile at soloing without space.

Yes, but the previous "most overpowered" and "most underpowered" posts and threads were pre-EoF, before the EoF combat changes.

Many things changed when EoF was released, including the relative standings of which classes are most underpowered and overpowered. Some classes are generally considered better off, and some worse off, since EoF.

And that's why new polls were needed.

Pryz, what helps you group buff wise doesn't necessarily help Rangers. We're not an ultimate uber guild, but we can still do the typical 20-24k raid dps on high end mobs with all of our Pred / Sorc / Summoners up above 2k. Rangers are good if they have a competent player, proc gear, masters and proper group setups esp since few procs work off ranged.

Anyway, as far as overpowered goes...I think I have to go with Illusionist... 18 people in raid with only five of them being straight dps classes vs a pair of Blood Collossi in MMIS, goes Warlock, Illusionist, Conjuror, Wizard, Ranger. Risa's just plain crazy

wow you missed my point after i even clarified it, re read it. i said what would benefit us equally. i.e coercer - ranger, illusionist - assassin altho double attack benefits the ranger far more so would be wise to not give to either. the main point is you are hurting your raid dps with a ranger because they need to be babied in groups to be on par with other classes that require far less to do the same or better dps

and to reiterate most overpowered by vote goes to illusionist with necro in close behind
