I'd bet someone just got tasked with making 'something' so FP'ers can get the language.

If it IS intended that FP'ers must do Peacock to advance this questline... then I sure hope they plan on implementing a similar dee dee dee dipshit cockblock for Q-town players that are Peacock-less.

If this is just a mistake, then /thumbs down to development of this questline for causing this unnecessary screwup.

Side note: I guess you know your toon is old school when you got all the opposing city language primers back when it was possible...

I had all the language primers... then servers merged and I lost all my languages and never thought to go back and get them again.

They'll probably say that because the quest starts in Commonlands, freeporters got an unfair advantage...

Has anyone checked to see what the new NPC outside NT lost? Perhaps there's some other way for freeps to learn KD that was added at the same time as this line...

indeed, if they allowed you to do the subquest of the peacock series that gives you the language (not being able to read the rock of eldonis in PoF), then we would be able to do the subquest without the tedious work of the rest of the series. that would be a suitable compromise in the situation.

as it stands, you cannot get the quest until you are on that step.

it may also be important to note that doing this requires a different expansion. so, if you were an evil character that didn't buy DoF because you weren't playing when it came out, you now have the option of 1) having to buy the expansion just because you're evil to do an outdated quest line or 2) not being able to do the new epic quest line of the expansion that you do own.

i think that's complete ridiculous. sure, you had to do speak as a dragon for claymore, but it was part of the core game and was a prerequisite / starter quest for the series... i took time, but not nearly this much. DoF is not a part of the core game.

It's a bit of a pain, but the Peacock series can be done solo by a 70 in a day or two. Of course with the exception of the epic kill at the end, the eye farming and the Godking raid.

Ok is there something I am missing with this "quest"? I waited 3 fucking months after the release of the expansion for the epic quest to be put in and all the first chapter turned out to be was 2 solo quests that once you know what your doing takes like an hour or 2 tops to complete?

What a load of fucking shit. Its not enough I already got 100aa's before the quest was even put in. Its not enough that they completely ruined half the fun of going through the quest line as something to do during off times for night after night, uncovering new things and ulitimately leading to what is hopefully some sort of nice "epic" rewards. Its not enough that whomever "world firsts" this quest doesnt even deserve a congratulations anymore because everyone and their mother should be able to complete it around the same time based 100% soley on lockout timers. BUT after all that, we are forced to receive this quest in miniscule chapeters seemingly on a monthly basis that dont even provide enough entertainment for a full day?

This is fucking disgusting. This is easily the worst epic quest to date and I have only done the first "chapter". It was boring, easy, and I didnt even have to kill shit. It was a bunch of retarded running around to grey or mostly grey zones clicking and harvesting. How fucking lame. I would rather do a camp mobs and fight through dungeons of claymore anyday. I would rather do the actually fucking raid mobs for an epic quest of prismatic 1's anyday. Shit, I would even take the short, easy shit from peacock over this crap because at least I could progress on that rather than work on it for 2 hours and then stand around jerking off waiting for the next installment.

This is the worst epic quest ever and I dont even give a fuck what the rewards are. I seriously hope the rewards are complete and utter fucking trash because they have dumbed this down and put it into stages so that even the mentally retarded can keep up with the big boys on it. There is no fun in this at all and whatever it yields is too good because this quest line is a fucking joke.

I've done the Peacock quest fully 3 times, just not on the character I'd most want this new quest for.

I'd rather go to the dentist and have a root canal and then go door to door cleaning my neighbor's bathrooms on my entire block than to ever do the Peacock quest again. I'm not going to spend two days out of my life doing something only required from Freeport players. This is GROSSLY unfair, and is a SLAP IN THE FACE to all Freeport-based players.

As stated by other players on the SoE forums, this problem was known and reported on Test before it went live.

Further, can anyone with a good aligned character confirm that good characters can purchase all evil languages in Kelethin, but evil characters cannot buy the good languages anywhere in game?

the most absolutely ironic thing about all of this... is that all the aggression about the expansion's mistakes was calming down. devs were communicating with players and it seemed that everything was headed in the right direction.

ESPECIALLY not if you expect people to actually be happy about it. at that time, i could see all this coming... not in as much detail, but i new it would happen. they can't not do something stupid. i don't get it. sure, someone will be unhappy... but how can you not see this coming?

i hope you get it now, SOE. do it right, or don't do it at all.
