Grab a Louisville Slugger, and go smash the skulls of the 100,000 people who are submitting /feedbacks instead of sitting on a website bitching and moaning between masturbation sessions.
Get it through your trailer park heads that game balance isn't decided at a board room table by the SOE development team. Its based on the /feedback received in game by your peers.

You're kidding right?
/feedback says: "My class sucks", "That class is over powered", "That gear is overpowered", "Classes aren't balanced", "My tank dies when I'm on Offensive Stance and can't keep aggro in Defensive Stance", etc.
Devs then "sit in their cubes and come up with these changes all on their own". If it's something large then they most likely need to pitch it to their bosses "at a board room table" (conference room more likely) with "the SOE development team".
/feedback says the problems. A lot of them are probably fairly legitimate. It's what the Devs (Aeralik in this case) do to address the /feedback that we have issue with.
Let me use an analogy to clarify my point. Lets say Aeralik worked as a designer for a car company. They put out the 2008 model of a sedan. They sent out feedback cards to all those who purchased the 2008 model and asked if there was anything they could think of that could be changed to make car better. The overwhelming response was that it was difficult to see out the rear window using the rear view mirror. In the 2009 model they task Aeralik to fix this design flaw since that's what the people want. Most designers would reposition the rear view mirror, change it's size, provide more options to adjust it, etc. Aeralik, instead, decides to put the drivers seat, pedals, steering wheel, etc. where the back seat is, facing out the rear window. This way the driver gets a clear, unobstructed view out the rear window like they were asking for. Problem solved. What then happens is a small group of people learn how to drive while sitting in the back seat and driving in reverse and complain that the rest of the people just need to learn how to drive ffs.
/feedback just states the problems. If the developers are getting the "solutions" to these problems from the text of /feedback instead of looking at how the game works as a whole and actually doing the work to fix it properly, then they have no business being in that job.
And before you ask, no, I'm not an armchair programmer. I've been a full time programmer for over 20 years.
