OK, this is Flames, so tossing a grenade like your opener isn't surprising.
I'm curious, though, how that is either leadership or feedback, and how much your PUGs appreciate being told to "turn the suck down"?
Some people will laugh it off and step it up because they're just slacking, downloading porn in the background, cybering some 89-yr-old plat farmer, etc. Some people will be a little stung and try to step it up, even though they're not really sure how. Some will just plain get upset and /quit. Just because you think it's OK to be tactless to strangers you're only interacting with via text, doesn't mean everyone thinks that way.
@OP - PUGs on Blackburrow seem about as variable as they've ever been. I usually figure I'll get some people who can pull their weight and some who can't; if I'm running my main (temp), I try to make sure that at least the tank is in the former category. Most often I can get at least 1-3 known quantities in group before I have to go to the LFG pool. And we do keep a list so we have some sort of plus/minus rating for folks who have impressed or annoyed someone enough to be noteworthy; the plus list is about the same size as the minus list.
If the group is really sucking that badly, and the folks don't respond to constructive comments, I'll usually just say "sorry guys, but this isn't clicking and I'd rather not get frustrated enough to get mad" and take my leave. It's pretty rare for a PUG to reach that point for me.
