Quoted for fucking emphasis. Being a chanter in T5 sucked more than anything. Not only did you have to continually cast crack every 15 seconds for ever, but it acted as a heal over time so every single tick on every single toon created massive agro. This meant that if anyone body pulled anything, clarity would tick and the chanter would die....and would have to start the cycle all over...

Scene: Spirits of the Lost
Time: after midnight

Yeah, I can do without that.

Beyond the mechanics, I honestly cannot believe that people liked the 4 daily instances. Zone in, Kill mob in 5 minutes, 20% chance (if that) at a master chest, then spend 20 minutes moving to the next target, rinse repeat. That shit sucked. When Spirits and Splitpaw came out and we actually had real raid zones, that kicked ass. Of course, unless you were a chanter (see above).

On the other hand, I will echo basically everyone else about contested. t5 kicked SO MUCH ASS for contested encounters. I loved logging in and having the guild MotD tell me to check 5/6 contested that were due at any time. Even after they fixed /poke, I loved running down to check Hand and Nagalick. I loved racing other guilds for even the most trivial contested like Xiggald in CT.

I honestly think we may have a shot at convincing SOE to up the levels of t5 contested, at least some of them. I say we start a movement!!

Yeah, I can do without that.
I'll never forget pulling as a SK in T5, casting both my taunts on the mob as I was running back to camp with it, and the mob would still head straight to the coercer when it got near camp.

That was just amazing, and all I could hope to do is kill the mob before it killed the coercer, because I could damn sure never get the agro off him.

You guys are exaggerating. Chanter aggro wasn't that bad. It's true it sucked if they died but shit happens.

The most broken thing about T5 was that the guard could get 100% avoidance with a troub and warden. Even that wasn't too bad since real mobs had to hit bonuses so it's not like you could avoid everything.

The only real downside was the classes weren't balanced. All you needed to win was Guard, 2 templars, 2 wardens, 2 troubs, 1 of every kind of other healer and fill with dps. Once you had the right classes the game was a hell of a lot easier but certain encounters were still fun. Figuring out Vox was hard as hell and took a lot of time. Then once you got it you left feeling so pumped up about it.

Wow obviously you didn't play an Enchanter in T5, otherwise you would know it really WAS that bad. Between the piddly DPS I put out and my debuff spam(which could very well be the larger portion of where the aggro could have come from), I pulled aggro quite frequently if I had breeze going, without it, I could spam without issues.

i played a chanter often in t5, all i remember is breeze 24 people, and spam the fuck out of powerdrains on epics

haha chanter agro, we used to agro a mob on one side of the zone, that would then take off after the chanter who would be completely on the other side of the zone it was awsome, ahh we killed Bria so many times that way.

As it was probably said before, T5 kicked ass due to the amount of contested. So let's look at it compared to today. In T5 you had multiple instances, spirits of the lost, and then anvilpaw/acts of war. Then you had a solid handful or two of contested.

Now we have 3 1/2 zones (cwm does not count as its own zone) and 7 contested for a double expansion (kos and EoF combined) basicaly any descent raid guild knocks out their instances in about 3 days total (1 day for FTH, IS, CWM) day and a half for EH with another half day for FTH CWM again. Chel doesnt count as it takes less than 10min.

So now here we sit with CL across from us waiting on Princes that unless they spawn a day early aren't gonna be up because THAT IS ALL THAT CAN POSSIBLY be killed. No avatars, no other contested, both guilds locked out of everything. Wow this is f'n fun. We did the whole "take the night do unrest or SoD quest if you havent etc last night" since nothing was up or due. So yeah they need to add either another EH type raid zone (dungeon crawl would fucking own) or make the avatars each have a spawn timer to add the rest of the missing content to make the expansion complete and stop more nights of staring at a empty fucking spawn point.

I cast breeze on 24 people, Darathar got pulled ( I was 8 miles away) he came for me and killed me. Fun fun.
