My wife works for a company that makes accounting software for UAW locals, keeping track of dues, fundraisers, payouts, officer's wages... These locals have a report that is due to be turned in to the feds at the end of march, and software updates are
mailed out to the locals (US mail, standard postage) on CD's and floppies because these places are running on computers that range from windows 95 (oh, yeah, they really are) all the way to vista.
Not only are the final 2008 tables NOT shipped yet, there is no plan in place as of yesterday to do so. 21 days to turn in the reports and counting.
This only affects millions of dollars in dues and accounting, and there are federal fines for turning them in late... Hey... at least it's not billions....
There are times when timescales are important.
