Agreed, but its something they are sensitive to because apparently when your customers are offended they are not happy. They do it to avoid people complaining or being offended, and it's so easy to change/fix that they get on it.

Complaining that you were penalized for breaking the rules, prior warning or not, is quite silly. If you didn't choose to make your last name something stupid, you wouldn't be suspended. It's not SOE being retarded, you got it the other way around.

Theres a ton more they should be doing rather than fucking sweating peoples characters last names. Some of the people we've had, had curses and other racially insensitive things as their characters FIRST name ... Hell we had a Jehova who was a Templar and a Carpenter...greatest alt ever.

You make it sound like they need to drive to an office building, disarm the alarm system, turn on a football field of flourescent lights, and search through dusty paperwork in file cabinets using Perry Mason's support staff to figure things like this out.

Based on the info provided and a claim of unequal enforcement, I believe they could determine all present and recent perpetrators in about 30 seconds, from any computer, and don't forget that CS works past regular business hours.

You guys had to expect bans for those lasts names. I don't know why it comes as a surprise. In the real world repercussions for using that word would result in much stiffer consequences than being put on time out.

My point being, I presume what you've just seen is efficient SoE customer service in action - they've gone out of their way to *help* people based on info posted on this site - you have to understand that information can result in either a helping hand or enforcement, depending on the circumstances.

It's officially classified as a fighting word in some places, meaning you could bring that up as a legal defense for hitting someone in the face if they called you that.

They had to have said something, he must have some sort of idea why he was banned. They don't just "mystery ban" - did he do something perhaps that he's not wanting to talk about?
