I play this game because I was sick of WoW players IRL and wanted to be the typical non conformist. If LOTRO was out by then I would be playing that because I met one of the devs IRL and he's an awesome guy. But I was already in EQ2 so...

What made you originally decide to play EQ2?

Oxymoron: typical non-conformist.

I was rethinking my earlier posts and realised I hadn't actually addressed the implied question in the topic title.

Why did I choose EQ2?

In this MMO there are more mature themes, atmospheres and settings. It is sleazy, grimy, immersive, menacing and decadent...at least Freeport side is.

Also, various cultural references came to mind about Freeport.

Reactivated because I got bored of AoC (obvious lack of content at high end, and lack of people to kill once they started quitting). Plus I get distracted by sparkly...things...
