I have had three buddies drop WoW, AoC and LotRO and come over to EQ2. Bottom line is there is better content here than the other games and a more mature audiance. I have played everyhting under the sun, and I am certianly not a huge fanboi or anything (make your own decision) but until someone comes out with the next great EQ, this is will take care of my video game craving.

They should make a commercial with loud power metal [hell knows the devs love metal] and flash the logo over and over with a dancing pigeon. I'd play ANY game with a commercial like that. Even Big Rigs.

So my gal and I have half a dozen accounts between us and I just reopened two of mine. I am a rejuvenated casual player. Honestly I think it was the RAF program. Nothing about is terribly inspiring but, it was just enough for a few of our rl friends to give the game a quick download.
It was boring and slow at first coming back to the game until we decided to give a new server a try with our noobish pals. The new server and old content is invigorating. I've alted and played on a number of servers and I agree with the OP that this community is just more suitable for adults in comparison to wow and free2plays. That's my major concern about a f2p model in this game tbh.

Kids means more revenue. Which then means bigger budgets. Which means opportunity for more devs. Which means game improvement (hypothetically)
If it improves the game indirectly, cant complain imo. Either you become fussy of the adult demographic which limits subscriptions or you target all age audiences and increase playerbase+subs.
