Except this isn't the 90's and little kids really don't mean shit anymore.

Targeting and catering to the adults is smart because the biggest gamer demographic consists of 20 to 35 year olds.

Let the kids play WOW and shit like 9Dragons. Some games are mechanically fun but, their retarded kidographic can stay out faic.

I'm having fun. Fuck them.

A few servers could consolodate and the perception that our playerbase is a ghost town would go away. There are plenty of servers thriving in lulz and if we just continue socially recruiting our friends, we'll pay the bills to keep the servers running. Hell, they're probably all VMs on the same ESX boxes now anyway. Hardware and software has come a long way since EQ2 launched. LOL

It was boring and slow at first coming back to the game until we decided to give a new server a try with our noobish pals. The new server and old content is invigorating. I've alted and played on a number of servers and I agree with the OP that this community is just more suitable for adults in comparison to wow and free2plays. That's my major concern about a f2p model in this game tbh.
Your lucky! I can't even get my friends to come and play for FREE. I am still enjoying the game. But without friends it makes it quite annoying. They keep saying that they will give it a try but for some reason they can't pull away from WoW.

I guess I could join a guild! Any good guild recommendations on Crushbone?

If it improves the game indirectly, cant complain imo. Either you become fussy of the adult demographic which limits subscriptions or you target all age audiences and increase playerbase+subs.
I'm not slamming WoW for that decision at all. Just a personal turnoff to enjoying the game. I can ignore them...so it wasn't my BIGGEST decision for quiting MMO's/WoW in general. Just made it one of the factors for not returning when I got the craving to play another MMO.

The biggest turnoff for me in WoW was the expansion and how it turned the game into "easy mode". For example: In 5 man instance the tanks are able to pull 4 mobs and AoE em down without the healer really sweating! Where is the fun in that? It became a "Let's see how fast we can fly through the instance game play." I want memory's and stuff to talk about at work. I want challenge, death, progression that's tough! Not a marathon to the finish line!

Yeah, with the latest expansion, WoW nerfed all previous content by a flat 30% across the board.

that and many of those "adults" blow ridiculous amounts on extras such as LoN and buying those station items... too bad we cant go back to the time when all the cool shit acquired meant you really did something INGAME to earn it - questing, raiding, etc

Do I really care that somebody spent 50 bucks to get a house painting instead of raiding to get it? No I really dont.
