You can restrict domains in Google Adsense, but the problem, of course, is that gold sellers can create new domains faster than you can try and restrict them. Plus, there is a window of up to several hours from when you block a site from Adsense, and when it stops showing up. Google Adsense is a no win situation for small website owners in this industry. If you use it, it's not a question of whether your site will display gold seller ads, but how often.

Feh...a shame.

Gooogle ads can be filtered but it does take a little bit of work.

I have a high respect for Niami Denmother over at EQ2Traders because unlike other sites, I know she religously monitors her google ad content.

The problem is, there is a 3 to 4 hour lag between when a new domain can begin sending you gold seller ads and when you can block them. And they can make new domains for $8 dollah US faster than I can block them. Niami's site isn't a direct target. I believe if I had Google adsense, I'd spend the better part of my waking life battling this problem.

The rational conclusion is that there is no legitimate secondary market. If the words "Warcraft" or "EverQuest" ever appear in the ad, you can safely reject it. The question is, can you filter out by text?

Or maybe you can switch to an Amazon.com related ad system?

Can only filter domain names in Google Adsense.

All the other ones don't pay crap, it's not worth the trouble. Not using Google Adsense, the only real option is bypassing all that and selling a site sponsorship to a company that isn't involved in the secondary mmo market. Like, to SoE, or Nvidia, or someone like that. Hell, even to a retailer or someone totally unrelated to the gaming industry.
