Picture Moorguard's DPS tiers, but worse. It's just a constant stream of "but you said you were going to do this, but now you're not? Someone should get fired! I hate SOE and I'm going to play some other game thats much better! (but in reality is much worse)"
You hit the nail on the head and that's kind of what I envision happening with VG over time, but I didn't want to be negative and say that. So, thanks for saying it for me.

But hey, maybe Sigil can get it to work. I'd love to see it.

SOE is the second largest N. American MMO developer in the world so...they must be doing SOMETHING right.
Right but the point (only rational thing he said and was probably unintentional) is that the last thing we need is yet another version of EQ/EQ2 Vanguard is EQ 1.5

And not to derail LFG's thread, but I agree completely. I think the fantasy theme mold is starting to crumble and some serious innovation will have to be made over the next 2 or 3 years. The market moves in cycles with usually one giant dominating the market, and other smaller ones grabbing up what crumbs they can.

They have some talented people and I have no doubt they could do something innovative. The question is, will they? To suceed well, I think they'll have to.

It doesn't need innovation, it needs fucking quality and passion, or plainly, it needs people having their shit together. The good ideas are already out there.

When you get those core, passionate folk that are dependable, reliable, and responsible for what they do and don't do, KEEP THEM. Stop shuffling people about all the time. Arch is the type of person that needs to hang out for a few years or so popping out itemnization. Retraining people to 'deal' with the game is crap. Major content creation should still have a revolving team per expansion, but the core team in charge of polishing things post expansion release, and ensuring that the free content that goes out is spot on, those people should hang out for a while, and get to know us... the players. Out of the people that I had lobster and tequila with in mexico, I don't think there is anyone left that is still on the EQ2 team. The only person that was at the Science of War EQ/EQ2 party (first las vegas fanfaire) that is left is Gallenite, and he wasn't even on the EQ2 team at that time (this was only shortly after EQ2 was officially announced).

About the In Development page. A nice 'scope' would be appreciated. Although, I'm sure there are things that are in that scope that the EQ2 wants to suprise us with.
