Default Eq2players suggestion: Dev "In the Works" Page

Vanguard has this in today's login screen:

Quote:
NEW: Ever wondered what kinds of things the developers of Vanguard have in store for the game? Wonder no more! With the new In the Works webpage, we will be giving a quick glimpse of the projects we’re currently working on. The page will show both short term and long term goals, as well as provide a top 10 bug list. You can find the page here.
I wondered what the devs thought about doing something like this for EQ2. I'm not sure if it would create more problems than goodwill or not, but thought it was a nice idea to consider.

I personally think it would be cool to see a top ten list of improvements being worked on, if that was manageable.

Thank you

It's an interesting experiment. I'd really love to see if they are able to update it on a frequent basis and how the community reacts to it.

Padding the resume to get hired at GMG is fun, and looks cool, too.

Actually, I'm almost certain that they did this a long time ago. Around the initial release.

In the works, short term.

1. Padded my resume by breaking all known safe programming conventions by mixing clockpuncher code in with open source code...there's no real difference anyway.

2. Ignoring my own bad code and feedback on code that I pinched a steaming loaf on the Test Server. Test is for retards. reading feedback on such code is for Linus Torvalds and other rejects.

3. Play around with SMP code because I don't understand it; and maybe I can con a company into thinking I do know it so I can get hired at a company that isn't SOE, irrespective of the fact that the greater number of ex-SOE employess GMG hires, the more like SOE it becomes by virtue of Wits of Nit factor; incest is a bad thing and the number of bad people from bad companies like SOE apping for jobs should be eradicated, but GMG sucks them up for whatever reason.

I could go on and on, but anyone with work experience that includes S, O and E shoud be relegated to the position of Walmart door greeters that they are.

But Kert, Curt? Who cares. GMG is hiring SOE flunckies at a huge rate. He will get EQ2.5 in return, and no one will care.

1) It's Studio 38 now and has been for awhile.
2) They work for Sigil, not SOE.
3) SOE is the second largest N. American MMO developer in the world so...they must be doing SOMETHING right.

The specifics about code were really nice and gave you a little bit of credibility, but I'm guessing you don't look much at the industry as a whole. Just my worthless opinion though.

Terrible idea. They had the same thing in SWG, but design direction changes so often that people get very upset when things the "saw in development" months ago end up being scrapped.

Picture Moorguard's DPS tiers, but worse. It's just a constant stream of "but you said you were going to do this, but now you're not? Someone should get fired! I hate SOE and I'm going to play some other game thats much better! (but in reality is much worse)"

How is this any different than now?

I mean we are just now receiving the final KoS profession hats.

I am loving Archonix though, he is way better than that item chick. I actually am interested in killing contesteds for the first time since like april of last year

I had suggested at the last Fan Faire to Blackguard that the there be a post that listed what bugs the devs were working on at the moment. The idea was that it gives some form of feedback to the players, just letting them know what all the devs are focusing on at the time. I feel that it would cut down some of the whining in the forums if people could see what was being worked on, even if there wasn't an ETA for the fix.

Blackguard acted as if he thought it was a real good idea, and it would have been his responsibility to collect and post it.

We all know where that went.
