Swords of Destiny Timeline - The Huge Mistakes Made
Chapter 1: Gray quests, horribly boring and tedious repetitive quests (quench purity/devotion? Could you possibly make this more retarded?). Camping grey mobs in Wailing Caves. Entirely Soloable.
Chapter 2: We waited all this time for this? Collect 50 statues which we did in one day and thats it? This is called the ULTIMATE TIMESINK. Its absolutely useless and provides zero entertainment.
Chapter 3: Where is this going? So far we've only seen grey solo quests, leading up to green solo quests. Both have been extremely lame. I have no high hopes for this quest line.
Putting the 'lore guy' in charge of this quest was a HUGE mistake. Atleast with claymore the quests were of decent difficulty, lead you throughout high level zones, and provided good rewards. None of that is here. Reading 50 obscure clues to go find 50 idols who 99% of players could honestly care less about their names makes this the worst epic quest to date.
Why can't you remember your FIRST quest line? You know, the prismatic? Where you completed a series of raid tasks and actually well-integrated lore to achieve something great?
If you are going to make us wait to play this content, in extremely short releases, the content needs to be 100x better than it is. Killing gray mobs and running all over norrath for lore updates just doesn't cut it.
I think a problem is that the lore developer is trying so hard to make it a deep story that the gameplay is taking a back-burner. You cannot forget that this is, in fact a game.
Summary of mistakes:
1) Releasing in content packs. Do not ever do this again, it was a failure beyond words.
2) Making us complete gray quests/content to lead up to something relevant.
3) Making us complete pure tedium quests.
4) Releasing one 50-statue quest in the middle. Is this some joke? Fuck off.
p.s. jokes on those of us who actually spent all day gathering statues yesterday.

Re: Swords of Destiny Timeline - The Huge Mistakes Made
Lets recap the previous epic quests:
Tier5: Prismatic
Fun raid involved quests, collecting shards and resurrecting vox, and finally killing darathar. Great interaction with nagafen, great story, great rewards. The highlight of many people's eq2 experience.
Tier6: Peacock
Started with solo quests, but gave decent rewards, good experience, and resulted in fairly tedious but epic grinding.
Tier7: Claymore
Taking the complaints of Peacock, claymore was a huge success. Great rewards, great quests, decent story (though not as beautifully simple as Prismatic). Required plenty of raiding and access quests to get into Deathtoll.
Regrettably was not ready at release.
Tier7.5: Swords of Destiny
The continuation of the claymore story. I would guess that by now 80% of the people don't have a fucking clue whats going on in this complex story. Released in content packs that have people still tapping their feet almost 7 months after release. Camping low level mobs, low level zones. Terrible and confusing lore integration. Time sink quests we wait months for, just to wait another long period for the next release.
Where is the learning going on here? If SOE is giving up on giving us engaging and completed content, why do we continue to play? Is it just going to get worse from here? (though I have a hard time believing it could). Is this a result of SOE's talent moving on to other projects? I think it is.

Re: Swords of Destiny Timeline - The Huge Mistakes Made
We all know this is supposed to be THE epic questline of EoF. Quit wasting our fucking time.
Here is exactly what is going to happen:
1. The people this questline ends with, are going to be pissed off at the complete and utter stupidity of the begining quests. They will hate how useless and just a waste of time they are. This step has already come to pass.
2. By implementing this questline is such small, bite sized, useless portions, your ensuring that as long as the quest remains non epic, every retarded with half a brain that can click a mouse will get caught up before the next installment. This absolutely kills half of the fun of discovering your way through a questline. The fun is gone, period.
3. When the quest finally turns epic with something finally worth a fuck, 99% of the people will cry and bitch because they dont raid, they dont have time to raid, they dont want to raid, they dont like raiding and there was no indiciation that they couldnt finish this super compelling, lots of useless book reading, lore bull shit questline they started on MONTHS ago.
Grats, now you have pissed off the lore casual fucks and the raiding players with one questline. You wasted the time of tons of people who are seriously pissed off about it. You made it so the entire thing was completely unfun for the people who will actually finish the line, and you ruined it all for the people who actucally enjoy this useless bullshit that we have waited over 4 months for at this point.
Do yourself a favor and dont release anymore until the entire thing is read to go live. Compltely remove anything that isnt at least low level green epic related. In the end, the people who can do the thing and finish your story, dont give a fuck if it makes 100% sense the way through as long as we can fucking do it.
Oh and by the way, the entire game is on fucking farm status for a number of guilds. Dont insult us further with a useless item reward that isnt even better than what we already have, or worse, that is way better than what you can get from killing the contested avatars/mayong. Instead of spending all this time writing queer ass rhyming riddles, spend the time concocting some rewards worth a damn. How about a master 3 choice of a spell, a new spell for your class, or the ability to raise the aa cap to 110. Something actually useful that wont be garbage by the time you actually get this fucking thing in game.
EDIT - And to snarks, dont you EVER say the peacock rewards from the quests leading up to the godkign were decent. They were horseshit that would have been transmuted on sight if transmuting had been in game.

Re: Swords of Destiny Timeline - The Huge Mistakes Made
This just in!
The final reward for "Sword of Destiny" will be a Flaming sword that can only be displayed in your house that gives +5 transmuting for 1 hour and a book that is an exact copy of the usless who gives a fuck text that you read thru in this quest.
