When problems are as severe and chronic as the recent downtimes on the official forums, they are probably well known up to the Smed level at SoE.

There are probably a couple nice guys somewhere with severe pressure on them right now and everyone being all intense towards them. I dunno, but that's what I'd suspect.

I think the worst thing that can happen in situations like this is to try and increase the noise levels and apply additional pressure. There can be no doubt they know they have problems, and that throwing more tomatoes at them is not likely to accomplish anything.

Just my two cents, not trying to criticize you personally.

LFG is right, SOE is very aware of how dissatisfied people are with the forum reliability. Everyone I know (including myself) has complained about it officially and unofficially. All I can tell you is I've heard it's SOE network wide issues and the web development team are chained to their desks.

It's extremely frustrating and something I hope they can resolve sooner rather than later.

This week it's to the point that I'm not shocked it won't load. I'm really starting to not bother with their site. The forum changeover was not good and it hasn't been real stable since.

I mean stuff happens.

It appears that someone did not do their due diligence.

It also appears that their was no 'backout plan', no plan B, no "OH MY GOSH THIS IS NOT GONNA WORK WHEN WE PUT A LOAD ON IT!" plan.

Disappointing in a multimillion dollar enterprise, which is one reason I don't feel I am being 'too harsh', they have the resources to do things right. why don't they?

And yeah, I have been one of those 2 nice guys chained to his desk in the basement with 'someone else's design', someone else's foul up.

However for this to be going on for over a month running, it is either a serious design flaw, or the chosen technologies can't handle it. Either way, they should port them back to lithium for 6 months or whatever lease they can get, then get it reengineered and off the 286 in the corner, and get 'er done.

Someone somewhere has to pony up and say enough.

then again, i don't want my station access to go up AGAIN next month to pay for someone there's idiocy.

I have to agree with Coldmetal. why should we continue to have increases on the cost but they still give us the same if not poorer service.... it has been down or had issues alot since the "revamp" they decided to do to it.

One of there "fixes" today broke guild chat .. again ... i guess I don't have to pay for it, but it's one of the nicer perks I enjoy on eq2players.....
