The POINT is that there already are different ways to do things. And Gage, like I told you Friday night... you ARE indeed the profit of doom. You may be right about the standard being the "hardest" way. And even that I'm willing to accept, so long as somewhere down the line we get a mob or 2 that indeed have a much harder setting.
Like Imagine going back to Trakanon and fighting him without using the Chelsith Stone.... and getting better rewards? (OMG maybe there IS a better reward?)

eh, you guys overanalyze everything.
i got tired of the endgame bullshit and i enjoy the game just as much by not trying to overthink shit to try and enjoy it. yes i know, you put in the effort so you want the reward and not some scrub who does it the easy way and gets the same reward. it's pretty much impossible for them to always be 100% on top of things but you can't nitpick something to death before you even see it.

Not arguing whether easy vs. hard, provided they get the loot right, as a bad thing. Just stating, your current examples are poor. Trakanon without a Chelsith Stone? If you want to wipe for hours sure!

Exactly, its a cool idea on paper and if this was a different game I probably wouldnt be nitpicking this idea...however this is EQ2 and ive been raiding for to long to think that this is going to be implemented correctly AT ALL.
You seem to forget that they are working on 10 new levels of content and 1-2 more LU's before the expansion is even released on top of this new raid shit. I dont care if there are different developers for each aspect of the game, it isnt going to be balanced right. Waiting another 8 months for an expansion and then another 6 months on top of that to fix what they broke is something I dont want to see...again.

Except that in September with GU 53, you will see the first new raid zone with this varying difficulty system... so you'll be able to feedback this entire raid system MUCH sooner than February.

What I don't get is if SOE has the time to make 3 seperate fights out of one fight why not just use that time and make 3 zones instead, then you would be putting out more content. Most raid zones are just copies of group zones anyways. Why not have 3 different zones then 1 easy 1 medium 1 hard? Isn't more content the thing people want?
What will really suck is if one of the lower tiered mobs drops an item better for say a mage and you get to for example Ykesha and mages are like WTF we need to kill the easy version so we can get the ring of ownage while everyone else wants the hard table.
