It's contested, which is one step up from everything being instanced. And I would be willing to bet that the third wing is going to be pretty rough.

Yes I'm looking forward to SoS 2.0 where you can walk from one end of the dungeon to the other and not see a mob.

I personally enjoyed the fuck out of contested dungeons in EQ1. Sebilis was a blast (mob aggro dynamics in EQ1 were part of the fun though =p). I wish they'd have kept further away from the habit of instancing everything in EQ2...

?? I can't say that I experienced that very often in SoS. And to be honest, if a zone is empty because there are so many people in it, then that means that the zone is successful because it means that people actually use it.

Ya EQ1 Lower Guk pre - kunark not a single mob up in the entire zone. Thank god for instances.

The problem with eq2 is most zones cant handle the load/lag of more then 50-100 people.

There is no reason a zone like antonica would get laggy with more then 100 people in it. Yet it does. The zone size should support ~250-500 people.

I still hope the new mechanic dev keeps chopping away at the code to a point were we could do less instancing of contested dungeons, combine the starter cities suburbs of freeport and qeynos. And play without server lag ever being a major factor.

There is a reaon why SoE went for instanced content in eq2.
People seem to forget that.
