Fens is easy. KJ ring > Monk island > Jinisk > Fens. Less than 2 minutes.

2 minutes wasted for nothing. For every single person going there. /shrug

Kunark bell, fens. Kunark Spires, fens. I know. The hatred of Fens has almost nothing to do with Fens itself.

They have, in EQ1. Mayong server just opened, you start at lvl 51 with 50 AA's. Heh Even get neat rewards for being first on server to kill raid mobs, and they opened it several days early to FF people only.

It is hilarious when peole cry about traveling. Did you not play when there wasn't anything except your 2 feet? People like you will never be satisfied.
If your system sux balls then go but another. I suggest newegg and build it yourself.

Since you didn't quote, the person posting before you has a very close timestamp and I'm the most recent logical person you could be speaking about...
I've no issue with travel. I was making a comment relevant to the travel point being discussed. My specific distaste for Fens though is the bad memories of Kunark questing that just won't go away because Kunark solo questing is impractical to avoid.

I posted and idea on the official forums about ,with the cap being raised to 90, being able to start on new races at level 70, with a 70-80 "newbie zone". The only requirement would be already having a toon at cap. I thought it was a good idea, but then again, we all think our own ideas are the greatest thing ever.

Heh, one of the most insightful posts on flames for quite a while, at least the last part :D
Anyways, I like the idea of self-mentoring. Gives you a chance to enjoy (Yes, I enjoy the game and most of it's parts ;D) old content, HQs and the like with other level 80 friends without the need of rolling a retarded alt and doing all that low level crap again. Seriously, I hate rolling alts, I hate doing the exact same solo content over again. And no having another starter zone doesn't make things much better.
However, as much as I hate making alts, as much I like to go back to the old content I missed, just to check it out or complete a low level HQ. Right now I did this using low level friends, but it's more convenient to do it with guildies or most of your other friends (most are 80 after all), which can only work if you have such a tool such as self-mentoring, as doing them while they are grey 'just doesn't feel right'. That's a bit too much of a godmode for me ;o.
Anyways, tbh you can say a lot of things about soe, but it's not necessairy to bitch about All of there ideas. You know, some of them aren't so bad and might actually enhance the gaming experience for everyone!
Or well, at least for some/most people.

Re: Auto-Mentoring
At Fan Faire the EQ1 people introduced a 50/51 server where all characters created would start at level 51 with 50 AA's. So the idea is being put into practice somewhere.

Otherwise this was long overdue. It's a pita to find anybody with the right level willing to group. As always, they just should remove levels altogether from the game.
Having to run to an npc to get the desired level sounds cumbersome and fucking gay. Hooray for the classes with more transport options than others? Assholes.

You don't need lower level content to reach cap... The only lower level content I did on my dirge is heroic dungeons, he's capped now... I did all the lower level content on my wizard and she has only just got past 140 AA's... granted though, with the rest of JW + TSO she would probably be ~180, but still not capped... you get more AA from doing the TSO instance quests than you do from an hour of lower-level grinding IMO.
Pushed the last 1 or 2 AA's in with T5 raid zones I previously hadn't done too...
