Default Auto-Mentoring

Is this a feature in the new expansion that can be turned off if you don't want every level 10 mob in antonica attacking you as you run through?

Doesn't work like that at all.

You talk to a NPC in the cities and they set you to the level you want. Then you go out there.

My understanding is that this is an option that we would do, much like when we choose to mentor someone now. It wont be automatic by any means.

Personally I dont know if I like the idea or not of self-mentoring....maybe I am not seeing it correctly, but to me it seems that there will be many more higher levels farming lower-level zones and not letting the people who ARE that level in. Could possibly be more harm than good...but, well, I will wait and see just how it goes I guess.

On most servers, the lower level zones are so dead that it won't matter.

That's something the Devs saw as a concern and will be monitoring though.

In addition, you can immediately flip from auto-mentor to regular mentor in a zone if you so choose.

Yet another reason to rush to cap. I like the idea if they do it right and see it easily replacing locking for a lot of people in PvE. Though it does raise a question-- if you can lower yourself to any level in game, At what point does starting at 1 even make sense anymore?

This is so people can go back and experience content they weren't able to before, and also helps out the people stuck on their AAs who want to go back and do prior content. There's no real reason to rush to cap anyways unless you're a hardcore raider.

I was a locker, and also just rushed my Inq from 0-70 and she would have been 80 a long time ago except well, RoK sucks. If you can auto mentor and just go back and do the content, the only reason not to rush to cap is if you like playing the game "hard".Which is crap unless you don't spend AP and only play with what drops, and even then since loot has been revamped you're still overpowered.

I love old content, I know what I'll be using it for but lacking how cumbersome it is to mentor now for AP, I see the potential for serious issues. Until they further adjust the AP gain mechanic, this one has a lot of risk of biting them in the ass.

Yeah there is. If you're mentored you're more powerful than if you weren't. The lower level content would be easier, so there's the incentive to rush to cap.

In fact, why would 'hardcore raiders' want to rush to cap? Being level 80 but with only 50 AAs is useless for raids.

They'd rush to cap for the exact reason you stated. You go back, godmode the content, gain your AP that much faster.

If that is a hint at us having to use old content to get max AA in the new xpac because the new xcap doesnt have enuff fucking conten, they can go fuck themselves.

Otherwise this was long overdue. It's a pita to find anybody with the right level willing to group. As always, they just should remove levels altogether from the game.

Having to run to an npc to get the desired level sounds cumbersome and fucking gay. Hooray for the classes with more transport options than others? Assholes.
