It's an "artificial" system to force you along a certain path, rather than a "natural" system that automatically progresses in the proper fashion.

Big picture: they're just dumbing down the whole development process so their mouth breathers can do shit without monumental fuckups. Basically this means rip off Blizzard at every step.

TBH how can you blame them?

They either flat out nerf the items that are so powerful that players will still be wearing them two full tiers later, or they implement a dynamic scaling system to automatically do it for them. I'd rather the gear scaled. Quite frankly, it's easier to itemize for the devs because they are considering dramatically smaller pools of items to balance against.

The solution here is to vastly increase the amount of exp given for killing old tier epic mobs (this can be a multiplier that's adjusted for current tier whenever the next tier gets released). It should be substantial enough that people are willing to take the time to find 20-some other people to bring along and raid T5/6/7 content on a nightly basis as a means to level.

Any of the 3 types of content [SOLO, HEROIC, EPIC] should allow players to level at the same rate, with no penalties or tradeoffs. Put an AA<-->ADV slider in, and balance the base rate of exp gain for all 3 types to make them equally viable. Boom... you've just given your entire playerbase the most fair set of playstyle choices possible. You've encouraged grouping (and mass grouping to raid), which builds the community. GENIUS? I think so!

Worked fine in EQ1, it will be replaced eventually but if that item took a lot of work to get last expansion its a nice break to hardcore raiders to not have to replace it for awhile.

So unlike in the past where we would use the top end raid gear from prior xpacks to raid 10levels later as in EoF for starting RoK raids, our raid gear will not be that decent for the new xpack raiding?

So we are forced to gear up using questlines and instance gear to be effective in the new raid content?

Will a TSO T4 fable set be worse then the quested/instance gear in Setinals Fate?

Just a thought....

I mean I like the idea for the most part, but would hope top end raid gear from T8 would be good for T9 starting raid zones like in past content.

Possibly Stupid Idea: There should be a quest to turn your myth's 3 blue effects into a reusable weapon adornment tbh.

Of course, this could cause problems if you adorn a weapon that already has a clicky effect with another clicky effect...

People are acting as though there isn't going to be any new gear in the new expansion. Gear has got much stronger with each one, I very much doubt that anyone will still be in all their 80 gear at 90.

There was also a quote that mentioned the mythicals no longer being the top weapons, but still playing an important role somehow- someone mentioned them equippable in the charm slot, but that can't be confirmed by me.

Because there's this old principle dating back to after DoF: T(X) fabled > T(X+1) legendary

i was not in beta, you guys sure the gear will loose effectiveness at the 10 level mark? just makes more sense for it to be a gradual proccess like every 2 levels if not every level.
