From what it sounds like, the SF gear will be just like TSO gear, which is why they are addressing itemization itemization through degradation since so much crap is % based. Crits will be merged and resists are dumbed down to 4 types, but other than that, it seems that it will be the exact same.
The 'feedback' that people are giving isn't on SF gear, it is on TSO gear, so SF item creation has no impact on gear scaling. They could have SF gear 100% done and still take feedback on how TSO gear scales as you level. I imagine that they will release more details about it in a month or so and, who knows, they might decide to take mob level into consideration (which would solve 75% of the bitching on this thread).

Here's a problem with your thoughts, if we reach the cap with SF gear, which means we'll have the same gear in SF as we do now, except it says Level 90. This delays the problem of the next expansion. Not to mention, Crit Mit is going to be so common because if the expansion after SF has no level cap, raid mobs will need to have an insane amount of Crit Bonus to be able to get through Crit Mit at the start. Which means, we end up with all of that, then combine with what are they going to do with itemization in that expansion if SF gear is just TSO Gear at Level 90? They are just delaying the inevitable in EQ2. This is something that people forgot about. EQ2 has poor curves, and poor itemization, a gear scaling system won't exactly work very well unless it's very minimial with a high drop off after a certain point(11 levels, not 10!).

That sentence looked fine to me since Become is a name.
Actually no, we are feedbacking the yet to be seen SF gear too unless they decide to only itemize 90. And if they choose to resolve "75% of the bitching on this thread" it'll be yet another victory for us just like spell consolidation was and will validate yet another round of "What the fuck are they thinking?" and "Why the fuck did they announce that at Fan Faire?"

If lvl 90 gear is exactly the same as lvl 80 gear... that would essentially make lvl 90 gear worse, because if you mentor, the 90 gear would have farther down to scale, IE would make you less uber. Just sayin.

Seriously that's actually a good thing. You are godly enough mentoring just from the extra skills.

Oh, and lets not forget about middle gear. Ya know, the drops that are lvl 82, 85, 87, the raid drops that are anything less than 90.... all that will also get nerfed too.

Fuck you, who are you to tell me how godly I can be! Mentorring and being way OP is the single-funnest thing in this game.

Oh snap! It's the let's make fun of the poster's grammar when all else fails comeback. I bet the RL card is coming next.
Do you remember when Aeralik thought spell consolidation would be a good idea and then like 200 posts popped up detailing how his idea was terrible and would ruin the only real good thing EQ2 had going for it which was the skill involved in the combat system? The "theorycrafting" here is a pretty obvious parallel to that.

I agree. It is way fun going through old zones in OP gear.

Hahaha, oh it's fun but speaking as a fairly recent locker, you rape content already even in MC. Between AA's and the upper level skills you're already near invincible. Being even more OP is just going to make it so you don't even have to play to kill.
Demi-godly should be fine enough!

This thread will die, and in March after the expansion comes out, I am going to necro this thread and all of you winy bitches will see how much you over reacted.
Let's at least wait until we get some cold hard facts with details before we start claiming that this is going to destroy the game.

Survived??? Most of the servers are baron wastelands now. You think the hardcore raiders at 85 with loot drops that dont keep their DPS number at what they like are going to stay? Trust me they will leave in mass. With the other shit they are planning to do to class's ,nerf some (cough SK cough), steal spells from one class to give to another to make them happy (cough swash to cons cough) is going to make everybody happy to stay?
On top of that what ever shard shit system they are coming up with wont help either. HAR HAR do an instance for 2 shards but you need 245 shards to get optimal HAR HAR.
Fuck even EQ1 instances gave you more shards per instance and at cheaper cost per armour piece. To top it off even with buy back options.
There are more people playing EQ1 still then EQ2. I wish the eq2 devs talked to the eq1 devs to get a grasp how to please the game players. Two different games but same fucking game mechanics, same fucking company. Go figure!
