I stopped playing EQOA because like half my guild including the leaders left for FFXI, and even after I found another guild, I got tired of coaching 50 times to get from point A to point B only to get a black screen. The coaching wouldn't have been so bad if they'd just have supported the HDD.

That depends on the class, I suppose, but what you did actually mattered, skill chains were necessary and to play effectively you had to do more than faceroll all the buttons that are lit up.

I knew that a thread like this would begin as soon as that was posted on eq2wire. I would be willing to bet that they will be using the EQ2 engine for whatever they do. That is why they are spending so many resources on revamping and optimizing it. If that is the case, what would be the point in starting all over from square one. They would be better off trying to relaunch EQ2.

Use the Eq2 engine once it is optimized, shit can the lackluster developers for some new blood, actually take feedback from the community and start from scratch? Might not be a terrible idea, if they could avoid some of the same mistakes they made with Eq2, Eq3 could have some serious potential.......

Yes it does depend on how the software is written, but you can unplug your keyboard/mouse from your pc and plug it into your ps3 and it works just fine ;).

I'm not saying that it won't work, I'm saying that mainstream PS3 user will never have one, and will start complaining that he can't play game using his Guitar Hero controller.

MMOs on consoles suck and I probably wouldn't be getting it. Wow has shown that there is still a huge market for PC MMOs, so it would be stupid to move to consoles at this point.

And I don't think that anything would change with the next eq game. They might learn from this game's mistakes, but they would just come up with whole new ones on their own. A quick mention in that video doesn't warrent all of this hype tbh. It could be 3 years before it is even released.
