The epic questline so far has been terrible, period. On the other hand, itemization is looking up higher than ever before.

Real raid itemization > isntanced quests, therefoer I say the future is looking brighter.

Lets face it, EoF is basically an expansion for noobs. Now its out of the way, there better not be another for a while. Its clearly time for a high end and high end only expansion. Surely they must see the need for more contested mobs right? They have to understand that EH is a nice idea but the sheer volume of trash is begining to make it just too boring to do anymore. Learning from just a couple small mistakes and if set gear continues to move forward(the sets are a big step up from relic), I would say things could be, dare I say it, good?

Then again, they could fuck up all over again too.

This includes instances, X2's and contested, even the Prismatic dragons. Tons of dungeons? I could care less unless they are challenging, fun, and well done. Give us insane amount of shitty content, and we are going in a step back, not forward. The gear, I can truely expect great things, Achro is doing an AMAZING job, and I tip my hat to him. Thats not where my concerns are, Its in the rest of the content, that just was not there at launch of EoF, but is making its way into the game slowly. So Yes, I see the game going in the right direction. I just hope there is no other MMO release date they feel they need to compete with and rush the xpac(VG comes to mind)
These are the things that will keep me playing after the next expansion. An attempt to work with raiders. Archonix is awesome, looking into things we have issue with. I don't care about this epic quest line, its already gven casual hardcore non-raiders the chance to throw a HUGE fit when it turns epic, so who cares.

I just have a gut feeling that for once we'll get an expansion that is a throw back to the T5 days, and honestly, Kunark is a prety badass island that that can be done on.

I just really hope the new expansion doesn't introduce a new starting city, because that means surrounding lowbie zones, and progressively higher up to t7 (or t8, if they do that), meaning we get fucked again on content to satisfy the perpetually under 20 crowd.

If they do a new race, I hope it starts in an established city. :/

I don't mind like if there was a new city, just to start in, and duing the citizenship quest, there was a portal to FP for the newb zones. Kelethin is a waste, and I hope that evil people aren't dumb enough to want a Kelethin carbon copy so everything is even.

If it's like the intro crap for EQ1 that got added in PoP, where you can just skip it all and go to your city, that'd be fine, but I'd rather not have forced questing, no matter how short it is, and getting rid of citizenship was one of the greatest things SOE did for EQ2 (EoF didn't actually happen. It's all a horrible nightmare.).

You both miss the point completely. Another starting city, means more t1-6 zones. We don't need a SECOND expansion in a row to have any content period for t6 and down. To go for over a year and a half with no lvl increase, and giving only 1/2 attention to the current teir, would most likely be the last straw to many raiders in this game.

Look at 80% of my recent posts on the official boards. I've been arguing the T1-T6 crowd about how there is sufficient content, and that raiders deserve one attempt at an expansion. At least have it at 65-80. Dungeons, zones, quests, raids, etc. That's why I said that my ideas up top are the only thing that would keep me playing EQ2. I was talking about the satrting city, because Evils, who by the way pretty much have every advantage in the game as far as classes go, will throw a fit if they don't get a city and a race.

A level cap means you lose most of the game's content. Unless you mentor or play an alt, that is lost to you and you're stuck with whatever the fuck little island the new expansion decides to put you on, with your two shitty little raid zones that have to be gimped to senility before most of you can even consider clearing them. You can learn the easy way or you can learn once again the hard way, and right now it sounds as if you have chosen the hard way.

So you'd rather have 3 T7 areas, each being outdone and outdated by each other instead of forward progression? That doesn't even make sense... I'd assume you'd prefer 50 more AAs though, huh? If there isn't a level cap increase with this next expansion, the game is lost. That's a fact.

Raising the level cap means losing your old shit. That's what it does. Every level cap increase. However, I still use a T6 hat. Forward progression, although you refuse to believe it, doesn't involve leaving the old shit behind. It means including new shit. This game needs a revival, Archonix is working on gear, and with a level cap increase with the new expansion, this game can be restored to its full glory.

Why does there have to be a level cap increase to progress items? Just curious.
