Re: Does the future of EQ2 brighter recently?
Because otherwise you have the mess that was EoF. There's still items in old T7 that people use, it should NEVER be that way. Like I said, I still have the T6 hat. Things like this are looking up with Archonix working on itemization, but every year or so, when a new expasion comes out, we should be able to throw out the old gear, and welcome the new gear. Its called progression. If we wanted to call it lateral progression, then stick with a 3rd T7 expansion, and all items should be about the same. KoS, EoF, and the new one.

Re: Does the future of EQ2 brighter recently?
Compared to 2 months ago, eq2 is looking much better. the fact that they are finally fixing itemization tells me that someone is actually listening. obviously there are still things they need to fix. The difference is now (as opposed to 2 months ago) i have a small amount of confidence that they will actually do it.
A little off topic:

This game needs a revival, Archonix is working on gear, and with a level cap increase with the new expansion, this game can be restored to its full glory.

I think raiders (casual and hardcore alike) get a sour taste in their mouth when a new expansion comes out and gear that you struggled to get for months is easiler replaced by some retarted quest reward, or heroic instance drop. Its possible to add a new tier without this happening!! Hopefully Archonix (or whatever his name is) will be able to achieve this. I want to have to work to get replacements for my hard earned gear, and not have it washed away in the blink of an eye!
Also... truth be told i wouldn't mind taking a few weeks off from raiding to grind to the new level cap. If i have to reach this level cap in new instances/zones that ive never been to, it can be quite fun. Its true that it will make t7 raid zones obsolete... but who cares? Is anyone really dissapointed that it will no longer be worth their time to mindlessly farm labs or some other easymode KoS zone for the second year in a row? Plus, maybe they will have some replacement zone that has decent entry level gear for the labs lovers. I'm looking forward to seeing how they can add proper progression and have itemization scale correctly from zone to zone in a new expansion.

I addressed that, actually!

Re: Does the future of EQ2 brighter recently?
Lets say they make the new cap to 80, and they make the expansion EXCLUSIVLY 65-80. The amount of content in EOF overall is astounding, the amount of it that the end gamers find useful, is lacking to put it nicely. If they dedicated all of the energy they put into EOF, into a single t7-8 xpac. It would have hope, Would I like to see it? FUCK YEA! Conjurors get stacked on their new spells next lvl cap
Lets say they leave the cap, but OMGOSH! dude! They just did this with EOF, Is the majority of KOS items still end game? No, as a MAGE there are 2 items I'd use, BOTD, and RoS. But shit, mage progression been fuckked since baby jesus was born, No suprise. The Itemization between KOS and EOF is SO profound, that EOF might as well be a new teir. the equipment is just as big upgrades as DOF -> KoS. The game will not die if the level cap is not increased, as long as there is enough END GAME CONTENT for the raiders. When I say the game will not die, I mean Raid community. Fuck the crafters.
The single biggest thing killin raiders in EOF is lack of content, Fix that, and things look a whole lot better. Always has been since t6, always will be until they learn.
BTW, for a mage no teir is obsolite loot, well it eventually will be, but i know a lot of raiders who use DMP loots, omg thats t6! BOTD, omg thats kos! gown of glory! omg thats kos some rangers are usin the round shield from King zalac cos it procs, T5, mages usin wand of 2nd life, *there is better* find me a better pair of pants then from MO for a mage...
ya get my drift, lvl doesnt always make an item obsolite, the proc / ability on the item makes it hit or miss for some.

Re: Does the future of EQ2 brighter recently?
I have a lot more love for KoS than most people, and if they could crank out another expansion of that caliber, I'd be happy, but more would be even better.

Re: Does the future of EQ2 brighter recently?
I like T7 as it is now, there's a shitload of stuff to do and kill. There's no competent excuse for graying and greening it all out, making me reacquire the same god damned spells I have on my toolbars right now, and having me run around in circles on some fucking little island waiting for the devs to finish the rest of the x-pack. The raid gear now is slick but possibly too slick and it's burning up whatever opportunities are left in this tier.

But a new tier of pets and class gear would own, and upset conjurors even more!
Here's my suggestion for pets:
Scout: Necromancers get THE MOTHERFUCKING PREDATOR. Conjurors get Casper the friendly ghost
Mage: Necromancers get Jesus. Conjurors get something made out of rocks, I guess.
Tank: Necromancers get a raptor from DoF. Conjurors get Nathan Ironforge, complete with taglines spamming constantly.
New class hats (I haven't worked out all the kinks, but fill it in!):
Necromancers get something fucking cool, Conjurors get a diamond tiara.

I have to agree. Although I do enjoy a good race to the level cap.
I wonder if they have enough headroom in T7 to continue the tier. I'd love to be a fly on the wall during that Developer meeting.
