When KoS went live for a month or 2 beholders had a common drop worth 26g. Nobody lost their money from that either, not even the botters.

I haven't cheated in EQ1 or EQ2, but here is what some people I knew did in EQ1:

1) Dueled two characters, KB'd one character to places where NPCs couldn't reach. Ended the duel, pulled stuff, casted spells on mobs without ever having to worry about getting hit. In Siren's Grotto, this meant getting a lot of gems, and there was a good sword in there too. The person doing this got ~$10,000.

2) Hex-edit and be able to use any NPC as a banker.

3) In the early stages of EQ1, things such ass Monk's Mend, Paladins Lay Hands, etc. were all stored client-side. You could hex-edit to make them repop instantly, and the server wouldn't notice. Using this, you could solo Nagafen & Vox at level 50 -- before even RoK came out. The person doing this made a lot of money, but I'm not sure how much. $300,000 - $500,000.

He also had a working guise of deceiver on an erudite SK, which was impossible to get since GoD got changed prior to people being able to make Erudite SK's. Obviously, one of the no-drop exploits was used.

4) Speed hack and /zone hack. You could zone into any adjacent zone using the /zone hack. These were useful for West Karanas, etc., and using the /zone hack, somebody got into the zone that was guide/GM-only. An entire guild got banned for this (Defenders of Ak'anon), but luckily, I'd gotten my friend's account suspended for excessive use of "bad language" when the banishments were handed out. This meant that he didn't get banned, presumably because they looked at who was logging in or because they only banned the people that they observed using it (which was pretty much the entire guild).

When TSO came out killing the key holders and looting shard chests didn't lock the instance. There were 4 zones a brawler could solo the shard from. A full group could tag along waiting at door for the brawler to loot them a shard. Jumping from zone to zone we were getting shards non stop.

If you want to branch out to other games, vanguard had the best exploit with it's trade dupe.

You could start a trade, do anything that removed items from your inventory (quest turn in, crafting, deposit money to your house, etc..), and then cancel the trade and your inventory would be reset.

You could level to 50 in a day with quest turn ins, level crafting in a few days with quest turn ins, dupe all the plat you wanted, craft as many items as you wanted out of a single rare, etc...

This was debunked back in the day to this person making this much money. I remember in some guild leader forums of the person bragging this and never showing proof he made this much. The sploit was only good for 1-2 months till it was fixed. Vox and naggy were on 7 day timers at the time. I know as my pally was one of the people banned by SOE for this when they went on the banning spree. I know he wasnt on the lanys server as me and 2 others had vox and naggy locked down with this sploit.

He was still doing it into RoK, which is how he got Granite Face Grinder on one of his level 40-45 alts, and he beat my 51-52 guardian's ass with it (maybe also using his little hacks).

I did take over Nag/Vox farming, though, on Fennin Ro. Didn't cheat -- 3box'd it.

This one I found by accident. Tried it once more because I laughed so hard. This insignificant exploit is still there. This is only fun on a pvp server and your a Q.

I was being chased by 3 or 4 freeps orange con in T2 around the north gate of Qeynos. I was by the mountain where the aqua ducts meet the mountain. I climbed up and hoped they wouldn't climb. Well they did it, it is not easy from the side I climbed from.

I went higher and so did they, there is an invisible hole there and we all fell through the world. I floated down as they dropped like stones.

When this happens you get zoned back into the world at the NQ gate, just where guards happen to be standing. Whomp whomp whomp, 3 corpses in a neat pile next to me.

I laughed for awhile on that one.

Too much coding to fix that hole? Try it, its still there.
