There really isn't a forum on this site that makes sense for this post, even though it isn't about gameplay. Its about how we play on the EQ2 forums, but it's more related to gameplay than it is to either a flame or to a topic unrelated to gameplay, so I'll just post it here.

I am a great fan of many of the individuals who work on the EQ2 team. I've met some of them at a Fanfaire, and know them as nice people. I don't want to harm them or SoE in any way. All I want to do is for SoE management to open it's eyes and get back in touch with it's player base, in the way that Verant understood is EQ player base 8 years ago. They knew what fun was, and that people prized truth and information over everything else.

But I digress.

I understand there may be many at SoE HQ who aren't happy about this site.

My response to them at this point is, tough titties. It never needed to go this far, I told you so, but now that we're this far down this road, there is no turning back. Plus, i've never had this much fun in my life. It now seems like this site will succeed, and therefore I'm going to keep it going for as long as this community will use it.

Some of the SoE folks might wish that people who are pro-EQ2 or SoE, and who usually defend SoE's interests on the boards, not post on this site.

To the extent such a mindset exists at SoE, I'd like to say that is about equal to government thinking. You should not only want, you should actively encourage your fanboys and supporters to post on this site.

Look at it this way: The SoE H8'rs are here in full force. They are having a good time and it appears that they've set up their grills and keggerators in the parking lot and are camping out for the series. Do you want them to sweep the series, or do you want a chance to win? Take the chance.

Every pro-SoE fan now posting on this site is doing a good job representing your interests here and is effectively countering and offsetting what's posted by the anti-SoE fans. Do you realize how ugly this would all be now without guys like Radarx and Coyote posting here? They aren't fanning the flames, they arrived with industrial quality fire extinguishers and are well equipped with flame retardent gear. I think you should talk to people like my friend Gaige and others, and suggest that everyone in the EQ2 community can benefit from keeping free speech alive and honestly representing the full side of all stories here by participating in this site.

Because without those people, you will get only one sided and negative publicity here, anyone can realize that. Think damage control, think about your best interests, and realize you can't stick your head in the sand and hope this will all go away now, because it ain't going anywhere.

So please stop having a problem with this site and acting all butt-hurt about it. I assure you that nothing will ever erupt from this site that violates your legal interests or constitutes sabatoge of EQ2 or the EQ2 forums. I give you my word on that. We are not criminals, we are your greatest fans.

And think about this also. This site will never display commercial advertising from companies like IGE and others that violate your EULA and ToS. Yes, I am actually telling you that I will continue paying for this out of my own pocket and from donations, and will turn down all money offered by plat sellers and other scum. How many other fan sites can say the same thing? Wouldn't you rather have your most hardcore fanboys defending your interests here than now just giving their one-sided views on your own forums?

BTW, other fansite people don't need to worry about me or this site, since this is obviously only a forum site, and I'm not attempting to compete with them at all in terms of content.

I hope you can see that we want to work together here and help maximize the success of your games.

I mean, I can't really talk to some of my friends about what a jerk Radar X is. (Just teasing man, but you know what I mean.) No one would really understand if I just blurted of god damned botters! Seriously.

It completely boggles me that SoE might want to keep the so-called "fanbois" off this site. This is a site that allows players to vent emotions (and we all get passionate about the game) in a manner that causes no liability issues for SoE. Shoot, they whould be quietly underwriting it (holy Tunare, that'd be ironic).

Open honest debate and you're allowed to get as pissed as you want in the process.

I can understand rule bases and what not... but disallowing any links to this site... in my oppinion... cuts these guys (SoE).

Allowing people to post here... with no filters and no emotional filters... would save the MiB ALLOT of work. This place gives the honest poster a place to come vent, then by the time they calm down.. they can go back to EQ2players and sit down with a good clear mind and say exactly what they wanted to say, without the need for moderation.

Agreed, as well as, while it may be harsh/uncomfortable to read, they're getting unfiltered feedback here that people cannot post over there - whether due to discomfort or inability to post bluntly as they think, etc.

To me it's just SOE and there politices. Any time negitive stuff comes to light on there boards or people are just blunt and say there feelings in plain english rather then posting it with big nice intillectual words they get ride of it.

It's like they know there are problems with the game and players are unhappy but there too chicken shit to come out and be a up standing company and admit there faults. It's almost like watching todays polaticans work there bs with the media.

Overall I think this site is good bussiness for SOE. It gives the player base a place to vent there fustrations, for people to call out other players and guilds and post up there real feelings without fear of da man putting down the hammer down on them. It also alows the community in a whole the opprotunity to be the judge of SOE's direction/implimentaion of stuff and other players/guilds without SOE's political correctness interfearing and or fear of repercusions from SOE.

IMO it's less SoE's desire to ignore harsh truths as the fact that they're a very sue-able international corporation and have to cover thier butts.

But that's what we're here for.

You won't get the more moderate pro-SOE posters here because there is not a lot of actual general back-and-forth discourse here. There is a ton of "You cockcucking fags suck" and 'suck my dick" posts, though. And that is fine. But moderates don't really want to wade through that, or get blasted for every pro-SOE thing they say. And the very nature of this board will discourage a noob seeking for information from posting a question, for fear of flaming or being labeled noob (one of the more common putdowns here).

You will draw the SOE-sucks crowd, and the truly iron skinned pro-SOE people, and probably the high end raider crowd (seems like there is a strong showing of them already here), but I don't see you drawing the moderates or the newbies, which is a pretty large volume of posters.

Not that there is anything wrong with it, seriously, but the very name of this site is fair warning that you should be wearing your flame-proff underpants and the average joe isn't looking for that incendiary of an environment.

I don't mean this as criticism, because a free-speech forum is in my opinion a great idea and good for the game. But while I see you getting posts from a lot of extremists, the moderates will largely lurk at most.

Just an opnion, of course.

It's cool with me if only the most interesting and opinionated people post here. This is full contact forum PvP, and I agree it's not for everyone.

I'd honestly like to see people like Kendricke and other outspoken people post here also. Love them or hate them, there is no denying they make things more interesting, and that's what this site is about.

Regardless of how much I or anyone else may like or dislike someone here, I guarantee there will never be a homefield advantage in terms of moderation or admin actions.
