it had a "rarity" setting on it, so the box would only ever come up for (EQ2 case) legendary or fabled loot. So you would get a box on screen for 45 seconds maybe 3 times an instance as opposed to a box on screen for every piece of rat meat like we have now. plus the box was like 1/8th the size of the box you get in EQ2. you probably had some noob doing the settings that didn't know how it worked. VG system could be set so that in a grind group, everyone gets trash loot pieces distributed to them and a box NEVER comes up, EVER, so there is no clicking at all.

There will be exceptions to those rules I'm sure; but that's the general idea.
