Default Re: Signature Quest for a 10% Broker Fee Sales Crate

Baleout, when you were "waiting" for the box, there was no-one with 100% lower sales than you. Your waiting period was completely different from a newer players waiting period, it's a simple but really important point.

Yes, vets having having 2 boxes and an advantage over newer players who only had 1 box would be an entirely acceptible compromise. I'm all for vet rewards, I've liked getting them in other games, I like getting them here, I have no problem with vet rewards in principle or any in specific apart from the VDC. The impact of the VDC on the marketplace wasn't well thought out, and this particular reward should not have created two entirely different strata of market taxes with no ingame recourse.

I'd like to see an improvement to a bad situation that the EQ2 market has, so if vets could get 2 10% boxes, and newer players could get 1 10% box, it would be a good compromise solution.

You can get a 25% broker reduction box from a free LoN scenario. But no, they shouldnt trivialise the three year reward.

no thank you for trivializing the vet reward. This is the ONE meaningful reward SOE has given to loyal customers. You have to sell your stuff for 10% less in order to appear on top of people with the vet case. . . who gives a fuck. If you really want to recoup some of that cost, try to sell stuff via level chat instead of the broker.

But this doesn't matter because it isn't going to happen. SOE is going to listen to 3+ year old vets over new subs because the new people are more likely to turn over than the people that have been around for that long.

I don't think either reward should exist without an in-game attainable comparable version and it reflects poorly on how SOE views its game economy. Inherently competitively areas should not have imbalances that cannot be resolved through in game effort.

Orb of memories. Respec mirror at the time.

SOE listens to whoever promises the most money. 3 year players aren't going anywhere just because the vet reward got triv'd. Given all the bullshit we've dealt with and the fact we are still here, we're pretty safe bets.

true, the orb is nice, but not really that amazing if you are at the level cap. And if you aren't at the level cap, you probably aren't dieing enough to accumulate any substantial amount of debt.

I'm pretty sure you're talking the Wand of Forgiveness which was useful as well when it was introduced.

The Orb( assuming they don't fuck adventure xp again) will be amazing with the coming level increase and is amazing when making alts.

the difference in broker commission is 100%, NOT sales earned.

Veteran - selling item x listed at 5.5 plat (5 to seller, .5 to broker)
New - selling item x listed at 5.5 plat (4.59 to seller, .91 to broker)

That is a difference of .41 plat, which is an 8% loss, not 100%.

I would be fine if there was a quested item that gave you a 5 slot bag with the same reduction. Most vets don't need 2 30 slot boxes, so your idea would not really be that great for anyone but you.
