Default mentoring in future game update

I read that in a future game update.. people will be able to mentor down without needing a person to mentor.

How will this effect grey and green shard runs? Will they be building in blocks so that grey runs are no more?

I usually never have more than an hour to play at a time, and grey and green runs are the only way i even have chances for shard armor.

If only there where some quest, maybe in an old world zone, that gave you a shard, and you could do it solo, once a day perhaps. That would be pimp.

No need to be a smart* about it. Solo shard alone would take you a good half a year to gear up to T2...

And if you were utilizing solo content to get heroic gear, thus sidestepping normal item progression requirements, that's how long it should take.

Solo players do not need Legendary gear.

Solo players don't need group gear and group players don't need raid gear.

But you know what, I'm even OK with solo players getting raid gear as long as they put in equivalent time.

Lets say it takes 1 hour for 24 people to do the twins. So for each person to get a single piece of loot from him it takes 24 hours of raid time. If they created a solo quest that took 24 hours of game time to complete I would be ok with a solo player getting an equivalent piece of gear.

Problem is I can already tell with your "speed" shard runs that your more interested in getting gear you don't deserve faster that you deserve it.

The plan is that you will have to visit an NPC in order to self-mentor. I'm guessing that you will have to revisit the NPC in order to unmentor.

You think they'll make the Mentor NPC put an incurable detrimental on you that persists through zoning? Ouch.
