I didn't really read this thread, but...

FACT:
- Soul consumption would cause fights to take slightly longer if people died.
- Long fights = Battle weary
- Battle weary = omg we took too long.
- Longer fights also = less power
- Power Issues = Longer Fights

IMPORTANT FACT TO GO WITH THOSE ABOVE:
- No Soul consumption = shorter fights

No one can sit here and say it doesnt make things easier. Sure, it might not make things WAY easier... but regardless... it's easier now.

I think it's funny that the people who are screaming that this needs to be fixed are people in top avatar killing guilds. Don't worry this isn't going to de-throne you of top guild on the server. Majority of you guys can already 2 and 3 group majority of the avatars and still 1 pull it.

I think the real issue is that these guilds are worried they are going to start losing avatars. OMG another guild is going to pull it....shit shit the world is ending! Man the fuck up and send your 2 groups over there and show them how it's done. The only way guilds lose avatars is by not staying on top of when each one spawns and killing it promptly when it does. That's the bottom line. Instead of crying about a change that doesn't do shit to you, maybe you should be focused on manning the fuck up and doing what you are supposed to do.
you are clearly a fucking idiot, you are on the worst fucking server in eq2 history to boot, so stfu talking like people want to listen to what you have to say.

I never cried any where about these changes, it was a tongue in cheek post saying 12 ppl died and no divide and conquer huh? grats on being to fucking dumb to notice that.

At risk of being given a hard time over this, can someone answer a couple of genuine questions please?

I can fully understand and appreciate how important it is to the top-end guilds to be able to kill these mobs (preferably first) and reap the well-deserved benefits but why, after TSO has been out for so long, is it so important that other people can't? Surely you've demonstrated how good you are by being able to kill the mobs un-nerfed for so long? If it's a loot thing and you want the best equipped toons, again, I can appreciate that but why are so many guilds now selling loot rights to drops that mere mortals don't have a hope in hell of getting by killing the mobs?

I really can't see a great deal of difference between SOE making raids easier and top-end guilds selling looting rights - the end effect is the same - toons get equipment which they haven't really worked for. The only real difference appears to be that keeping the mobs un-nerfed means that that the uber-guilds can continue to make lots of plat so they'll be even more uber when the next expansion comes out. Surely not?

I've played on Oasis and now play on Crushbone... on what do you base this comment of it being the worst server? Is it player population? Because Crushbone has a larger population than Oasis. Also, if you were around back in the day, Oasis was the red-headed step child of the EQ2 servers. If you are basing it on what mobs have died well I'm not sure about those facts so yeah, just wondering what makes you say "its the worst server in history"...

Ive been on Oasis about 3 months, and you need to look no further than your guild tag for the reason why CB is the laughing stock of the raiding community.

I know you haven't been with them long, ...maybe they have changed now /shrug, i had heard gungo barely raids anymore so thats a huge plus for you guys.

Not many people in the guilds you are aiming your question at care about these changes, everyone that has been raiding since t5 knows Soe nerf all raid content usually at the 50% duration mark for a given expansion, its the status quo, which is why none of us care about it, its like getting mad at the weather.
