Level cap raise would be meh.
I don't care for grinding new toons and losing old gear too much.
I do think it would be fun, but the main reason and fun behind it is to experience more new content to the fullest extent.

If they made an expansion full of content for the 70s range with a vast amount of new EQ1 style AA's then things may be interesting enough to keep playing, but I am really getting bored of the same old raids over and over, especially at the rate things get watered down as of late.

fuck a level increase, i dont think soe cud release a expansion big enough to cover all the greyed out content lost due to it.

more AAs that are actually hard to get. like raise it to 200 and make them fucking hard to get.

i enjoy KoS so much id hate to see it fall by the way side.

I used to be pro-level cap, but i've changed my mind. I much more like the changes to my character from 50 new AAs than i do from 10 more levels.

I think EoF had the right nominal amount of customization and character improvement. Between 50 new AAs that feature a choice of new abilities and enhance existing skills, i think it's done much more to both differentiate and make more powerful my character(s).

So I'd take new 50AAs and maybe something else (like a new spell from a quest or something) over 10 levels of replacing my spells with same spells that have different names.

maybe we should have a poll on this?

Something like:

What are your thoughts on level cap expansion?
1. KoS and EoF suck, I love getting new masters and I want the level cap upped by 10!
2. I miss the leveling, I want the level cap upped to 100!
3. I can't be bothered with level grinding, I'd rather have another tree of AAs!
4. I can't handle any more new ability trees, I just want more AAs for the current ones!
5. The mere thought of XP makes me gag. I don't want any more levels or AAs, just content is enough!

i don't know how to make a poll, so if someone wants to, please do

But would it be easier to fix the current itemisation issues by just throwing t7 in the bin and having the itemisation devs start again at level 80? That would seem the best recourse for zero fuck ups to me.

Hmm eq2 and zero fuck ups...

how many levels does not matter. You can do 100 levels in ten days, or 1 level in ten days.
It depends on the kind of work they make you do how long it take. The question is...is it worth it to abandon KOS for a new tier.

Tier 6 killed the fun out of tier 5. Tier 7 killed the fun out of tier 6.

EOF enhanced KoS.
Personally I would prefer another 100 AA's and more content above ten levels and less content.

I think anywhere up to a 5 level increase in the next expansion would probably be the best thing for the game ...

1) You aren't completely trivialising old content as has previously been done by adding a whole new tier of 10 levels. New cap would be level 75, and current content would still remain blue - white, and still be a viable challenge for many. This would maybe allow for some better and clearer endgame raid progression as well.

2) The last major revamp before EoF changed how stats worked and the benefit that stats gave you. The old linear model was thrown out and we got diminishing returns, plus a much higher hard cap for stats back. This was done to allow for the development of new items in the current tier with the new expansion (EoF). Raising the cap by 5 levels will allow for the development of new items again, without leaving the game in need of another stats revamp.

3) Is it only me that was annoyed by a 10 level jump with a new expansion, and having all their hard earned raid/contested fabled gear being completely blown away by some random treasured or legendary junk drop in the new expansion? i'd really rather not see that again, so 5 levels would allow for a much smoother transition to new content.


Anyways, ive just woken up, and i am sure there are more reasons as to why a 5 level increase would be a reasonable thing to do. And to those that say a level increase has to be 10 levels because of the "tier" system - just sit down and think the whole thing through a minute. There is nothing to say that tier 8, cant have just 5 levels (and the other 5 levels being added with some future expansion down the line).
