Actually, there is nothing from the tier system that would prevent or prohibit a 5 level increase. Levels 70-75 would still be tier 8, and so would a subsequent 75-80 increase.

No, just shut up now. This is stupid. So what are the tradeskillers going to do with half of their recipes? I can't believe there are people out there that don't see how idiotic this is.

You are clearly failing to see the bigger picture again. There is more to the game than just tradeskilling, and any tradeskilling issues could be rather easily worked around. With the way the game currently balances, and the availability of content, and possibly the beginnings of some sort of end-game progression, it would be silly to just throw out the old content so readily with a 10 level increase.

So my question Daray, why halfass a level increase? I don't really care to xp up, but there's no way I'm grinding AAs again. I want my new spells. We have new spells coming with T8 that eliminate spells that we have farmed for since T6. I STILL don't know a Conjuror with FA. A few top WW ones might, but there is no reason that we don't upgrade the spell list, upgrade the loot (which everyone bitches about anyway) and get the stats on a curve that's able to cap properly.
I just don't understand the half-a-tier mentallity. Maybe someone SHOULD put up a poll...options:
No level increase - 50 new AAs
No level increase - 100 new AAs (50 class and 50 racial)
Level increase of 5 - No new AAs
Level increase of 5 - 50 new AAs
Level increase of 5 - 100 new AAs (50 class and 50 racial)
Level increase of 10 - No new AAs
Level increase of 10 - 50 new AAs
Level increase of 10 - 100 new AAs (50 class and 50 racial)

Well for a start, increasing levels so that you can upgrade the same spells that you have already upgraded time and time again is not progression in my eyes. Maybe it is for some though ... and i have seen Fiery Annhilation quite a few times actually - resold a couple myself a few months ago. Increasing the level cap by 5 would solve your inability to get your T6 spells anyway :P
Secondly, the stats (with the new diminimishing returns curve) were not introduced to cap more readily. With how close we are able to get back to the cap again, there would either need to be a level cap increase to allow room for item improvement, or if no level increase, then the system would have to be reworked again (as was done before EoF). The idea of the hard cap, is that people arent meant to cap it so easily.
Thirdly, we have a rather large amount of content currently available to us in the end-game - would you rather throw that all away and start over with 3 group instances, 3 raid instances, and only 3 contesteds in a new expansion that took the game to level 80 because you completely trivialised old content? 5 levels still allows old content to be viable and even challenging for so many people. It would also actually start to allow for some end-game progression - something which i have been wanting in this game in some form for a very long time.
And lastly, would you like to see all your hard earned fabled and other raid gear become triviliased overnight by trash treasured and heroic drops in a new expansion that took the cap up by 10 levels? I didn't think so ...

If they did increase the lvl cap, the next expansion would need to be all end. Enough instances and zones to lvl in, then ALL raid content. lots of contesteds (x2, x3, x4). 8-10 instances. So yes. I'd rather they take away all the gear i have know and give me a shitload more fun end game content

My perspective is that adding more AAs does not add diversity as every raider will basically have the same AAs to maximize raid efficiency so where the fuck is this so-called diversity of toons? Adding levels will do the same thing but will give us hours of farming enjoyment getting our new masters and leveling. Raise both but don't bullshit anyone by saying these allow you to customize your toons.
