5 levels is a good way to keep old content that wasn't doable by semicasual players now something they can add to their sceduals or try out, so that sony can spend more time adding in MORE progressing endgame content for the people that have been waiting for it since kos.



5 levels fuck up tradeskilling?? fuck you.
i'd rather see tradeskilling take a major dump if it meant this game would finally get an expantion of quality raids, good progression, and happy nub players that don't bitch

In my opinion, there is nothing like the competition and camaraderie of a new tier and a level cap raise. I think it's something about pushing your toon as hard as possible to explore the high level new areas and the seeing the server wide progress as guilds start to reach raiding capability. When KOS came out it was some of the best fun I have had in a while. Devourer's den at 63 was awesome fun, even though we did wipe on the last guy like n00bsauce.

Don't get me wrong, EOF was great, but it felt more like a big adventure pack than an expansion. Having content with-held on release of course did not help the feel for the scope of it, but I sincerely hope SOE goes balls to the wall and makes us shoot for Eighty, effectively wiping the slate clean once again.

Besides, we still have another few months of EOF to contend with, in which I am sure most guilds will see pretty much all the content they will have the capability to by then (Exceptions of course apply).

And fuck the 5 level cap raise, we all know SOE swings the bat hard or not at all.

I don't know. Personally, I do like leveling up and seeing new high-level content and stuff, but at the same time I then will need to replace my damn equipment on two tier7 characters! (I don't want to go through that whole "tank has crap armor" thing again.)

It's a double-edged sword, really.

I think that's what the right saying is. Um... yeah.

I don't know what content you guys are trying to hold onto. There really isn't much to do when I log into EQ2 atm. Sure there are a ton of KoS and EoF zones but they're all SHIT. You can't get an upgrade from any of them and I'm already mastered out with a couple of exceptions. If I were to want to farm for masters the only thing I'd be after would be dispatch and to be honest I'm sick of doing PP for the millionth time.

As far as raiding goes KoS is dead. There are no upgrades left for me worth getting in the expansion. Maybe a piece here and there but it's not worth doing the zones to get them.

So really all that leaves is EoF. So for me I feel all there is to do is EoF raiding or sitting on my ass. A level increase would be good because it would give me something to do, some way to progress my toon. Then it would give me new master spells to go out and upgrade. Sounds win win to me.

IMO, its a lame cop out because someone wants to be lazy and not work for more stuff. When you play a regular RPG, you get gear upgrades as you move along, and that shit you had in the first few areas doesn't do shit any more.

If you are throwing a fit cause your gear is gonna go to shit, its cause your too lazy to try formore gear. If its cause spells, then its cause you're too lazy to harvest rares and farm nameds.

I'm just so tired of this argument, and the ONLY response when you question it is that your gear will get outdated. Yea, raid, and get more. That's a pretty simple answer. Or if you don't raid, quest and get more.

Here's what should happen next expansion. Masters need to stop dropping off trash heroics, and should start ONLY dropping off named heroics with a small chance, only talking about heroic content here. Raids should have a higher chance for them to drop off named, NOT TRASH. That'll help progression out a lot. I don't care about no-trade or tradable. I just care about the fact that they are so fucking common that if you don't have all your masters you're a fucking lazy ass.

We move further away from this tier we move further to the right setup. You know, in EoF I don't see that many masters drop, in KoS I see a lot more, which is why we need to move out of the tier as fast as possible to help progression.

Now as for gear, well we can now have a tiered progression within the tier that is better designed rather than what we have now. Yah, so heroic gear gets better, it'll include new sets which can be better or worse if you aren't at a set #. The gear can be even closer to relic quality now. There can be a few pieces that are really good and as good as some of the instanced KoS raid loot(for items that are actually in-line with itemization not as good as ones that are completely beyond what they should be).

Now as for the new raid gear, we end up with loot that is nearly as good as Avatar/CMayong loot, but full sets of it for people now instead of bits and pieces. Plus, instead of doing +5levels for end mobs, they should do +3 for intro/starter mobs, +4 for beginner, +5 for intermediate, +6 for end of instances, and +7 for the end bosses. They seem to have gotten over the previous problems of orange-con mobs that existed in DoF(which was just shove a bunch of HP and make them hit the tank like a truck) which should let them do this.

All of this assumes Level 75 in RoK, and Level 80 in the expansion after, and Level 80 for the expansion after that. Obviously for the 2nd expansion it'll change to +2 for starter/intro, +3 for beginner, +4 for intermediate +5 for end of instances, and +6 for end bosses, so that way the 3rd expansion can be +4 for intro/starter, +5 for beginner, +6 for intermediate, +7 for end of instances, and +8 for end bosses. I mean if they can get the progression right so they can do that, imagine how the game will be. If you can kill Avatars now, you can just go straight to intermediate raids in RoK, and work your way from there burning your way through the starter/intro and beginner raids really fast. Work your way through the intermediate and end of the instances, then kill the contesteds. Once you manage that, in theory by the time you get all that on real farm status, you'll probably have 2 months to gear up as much as you can before it's time to Level up to 80 and continue with the cycle of getting even better gear, and you'll end up starting at the intermediate raids again, because you'll have already gotten better gear off the contested of the previous expansion than what drops off the starter/intro+beginner raids. And then this continues on with 3 expansions per 10-levels.

Of course, this is all just a wish and probably would never happen for us, but if it did it'd be so great. You could even do similar things with heroic content so you keep those people happy as well. Making the hardest heroic content drop equipment that is similar in quality to the starter/intro raids.

Can anyone name a single reason why any high end player should continue playing this game if RoK does NOT include a level increase?

I really don't get people who say they don't want a level cap increase so that they can do labs/lyceum/hos/dt some more and farm nest all the time. Or people who complain about the itemization in this game, yet don't want a level increase so that gear does not become obsolete.

I understand that if a new tier or level cap comes out, itemization and raid instance issues may very well still exist, be just as bad, even worse, or maybe better. I honestly think that this game has improved steadily and will continue to in these aspects. I can appreciate wanting more content so you have KOS/EOF/ROK to choose from at level 70, but I would much rather have a new expansion, with new/uprgaded spells, new loot, that contains a substantial amount of content that I will not be begging to farm KOS zones.
