This is called projection, and you need to resolve it.

If that's your impression then I don't think you would make a good scientist.

My issue with SoE has always been their attitude toward their subscribers.

If you actually read what I said and what I was commenting to, you'd see that.
No, you said:
"This. If anything wrecks their business, this is/will be it."
--in response to:
"you can play when we're goddam ready and thank us for bringing your servers up at all" (re: SoE's "attitude")

...which was ridiculous hyperbole, not at all accurate, and an outright unreasonable assessment. I've been a customer of SoE for 10 years through EQ1 and EQ2 and they've never taken servers down for an excessive amount of time. They've never exhibited that "fuck you, we don't care if you can play this game" attitude. They've always kept the maintenance to the lowest possible levels needed to keep the system updated and running healthy. What kind of profit-driven enterprise would blatantly shit on their customers? Are you fucking kidding me?

What you suggested was tantamount to saying that SoE having the goddamn temerity to bring the game down for a full day to do a major system/hardware/database/whatever upgrade was an attitude that would destroy their business. I've gotta ask again... are you fucking serious?

You do not pay $15/month for unrestricted 24hr access to a virtual world. You pay for the right to use that world and all of its content when it's available. Expecting it to never be taken down for database upgrades or extended maintenance is unreasonable and only serves to show someone's ignorance of computer technology and software integration. If you are so hopelessly connected to that virtual world that you cannot accept the idea of any unscheduled breaks from it, you have serious issues.

So yes, I know exactly what you were critisizing, and you were way off base with your comments interpreting SoE's attitude... thus the mocking tone in my response. Don't tell me that I can't fucking read when you're the one arguing a flimsy premise.
