Thats a far cry from "Best Possible"... You don't think Blizzard would market EQ2 if they purchased it? I would argue that Bilzzard taking control of EQ2 would lead to the best overall improvement this game has ever seen.

yeah, no need to market if you do not advertise lol. Hell, I can go to 7-11 and get the trial version of WoW. SOEs answer to this, why go to 7-11 when you can get it online? And that is full of "win"

To answer the OP. I think it would improve the game atleast from a population stand-point because you know they would atleast advertise.

it's hard to say whether it would be good or bad without knowing the motivation, and i honestly can't come up with a single potential motivating factor for such a purchase except to shut down some (very minor) competition.

and i'm stretching pretty far on that one.

If Activision Blizzard bought EQ2, the world pretty much is over and will end the next day. Activision cares about money, EQ2 might make money, but it'd take too long for them to recoup all the costs from the purchase for it them to ever straight up buy an already launched MMO.

There's already alot of concepts in EQ2 borrowed from WoW, so I don't see that Blizzard buying EQ2 would change gameplay that much tbh.
