A little backstory: My mom got one of the new
Mac Minis and has begun the long and somewhat confusing process of learning to use it after years with a PC. She was looking to change her screensaver so I was helping her find it, and as I scrolled through the system prefrences, I saw the graphics card: an nVidia GeForce 9400.
That's the same graphics card I had in my computer!
My dad works for a company called
Western Digital where he designs hard drives. When I told him about the graphics card in the Mac Mini, he assured me that the things were powerful little buggers. So I wondered to myself if they could possibly run EQ2 on them. My dad told me they could, if I used the proper conversion software.
But then I began to wonder why SoE doesn't make a Mac version of the game. My dad argued that it's a business deal; they want to appeal to the majority of computer owners (PC's) rather than the minority (Macs). We both seemed pretty unsure about it, though.
Why doesn't SoE have a Mac version of Everquest II?
