There's a rumor going around on Everfrost that a contested heroic/epic/something spawns and kills everyone when a spire reaches 50%, 75%, or 100% completion. Can anyone confirm this?

In Lavastorm I saw a 'Guardian of the Flame' when it hit 25 or 50? Forget which, it was when one of the spires actually appeared. It dropped 20 of the Tokens you use to buy the event stuff.

Also I forgot to mention it was heroic, lvl 84 triple arrow. It was 20 tokens for each person in the group. Was funny to watch lower level people port in and get whacked by it.

I imagine at 100% something better with spawn, maybe not? Who knows.

Back before KoS, dragons spawned at the spires, and the guilds who killed them got titles.

Game was nearly unplayable with the epic lag, was fun though. Live events are good for the game. They get the whole server involved or change the world as we know it. Blizz started to do live events right around the time Sunwell was launched. I think "epic" rewards for participation should be offered. Titles, loot, zones (digs/crypt)

Anyway my point is the craziness is what made it fun. There doesnt seem to be anyone involved in this current live event, most spires are hovering around 50% on my server. Either people dont care (because they know the rewards are shit) or no one plays eq2 anymore.

i remember when the kos spires were just finishing being built where people got extremely pissed off that some guild that was off raiding showed up at the end, having done none of the actual killing/tradeskilling that made the event happen, and ninja'd the dragon...

folk were downright furious
