Re: What mods to download
standard UI is sufficient for everyone tbh. some people liek the autoattack bar from profit, i think thats where it comes from. but as a monk you dont need it

Re: What mods to download
As a monk you should have something to time your auto-attacks. Be it beeps through ACT or the auto-attack bar in Profit.
I suggest Profit Reborn or use the standard UI with the Profit Auto-Attack Bar.

Am I understanding this right? You are recommending that monk shouldn't time his auto attacks?
Anyway the easiset way for me to get the right timing was to download act and get it to ding on an autoattack hit or miss. With a monks haste the best you can do is 1 ca in between each auto attack due to the inherently high haste.
I wrote a quick how to in the following thread, hope it helps a little:

Yeah very true once at the higher end. I am guessing with a two year absence he/she isn't quite upto that standard yet. It is still nice to get a feeling for timings when at a lower gear state/level.
I admit to not using the auto attack bars as yet, so really can't comment on them. I am but a simpleton so prefer the dinging in my lughole that act performs, especially when I change stances for tanking etc

Just in case your asking for the obvious:
- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: eq2 maps mod (Adds user-submitted points of interest to your popup map, making *much* easier to quest and find named mobs)
- STRONGLY RECOMMENDED: Find a good quest website to get quest walkthroughs. I recommend eq2.wikia, but there are other good sites.
- STRONGLY RECOMMENDED: ACT (Advanced Combat Tracker). This program parses your EQ2 logs and (1) shows useful fight statistics, (2) allows you to create timers on certain events. At a minimum, use it to track your DPS (damage per second) and experiment with ways to improve DPS. As others have noted, you can also use the timers to help time your auto-attacks, and raiders use it heavily to time AoE attacks.
- OPTIONAL BUT USEFUL: Look at the various UI mods available from eq2interface.com. I use profitUI since it has a number of useful features (click to cure, click to buff, AA timing bar, context-sensitive help links), but it's not necessary. FYI, the context-sensitive help links are *great*. The quest and item windows have 3-5 links to appropriate websites (google, eq2dbi, eq2.wikia, whatever's appropriate) and, when clicked, will search that website for your current quest/item. This makes it easy for me to see a quest in my journal, click on the eq2.wikia link to get a detailed walkthrough, copy waypoints from the browser, and paste them into EQ2.
