Re: Your reaction to LON Zone Thing?
I don't like the fact that this is going in live in 2 weeks without even hitting test. Look at the dumb ass spire events; they were on test forever asking for player feedback. Or consider the self mentoring how they announced it before it even went into development This along with the fact that they never even announced this until last week says they don't give a shit what the players think about it.
This ONE zone doesn't concern me that much, but it is the trajectory that bothers me. EQ2 dev time went into developing this content and this is just bad news for the future. It is 1 zone with crap loot today, but tomorrow it will be 8 zones with very good gear.

Re: Your reaction to LON Zone Thing?
I know SoE is fucking stupid, but I don't think they are going to allow that to happen.
Edit - And I'm referring to zoning infinite number of ppl thing, not selling spots, I'm sure you will see that.

Re: Your reaction to LON Zone Thing?
She said that a key holder can run the zone as many times as they want as long as they don't finish the quest. So yeah, they can sell spots over and over again until they decide to turn in the quest. I'm sure that there will be a lockout timer, but it would still be a way to make lots of plat.

Re: Your reaction to LON Zone Thing?
In the marketing world this is called Co-Branding.
They take a product and pair it with another product. The customer gets a benefit from using both companies products. The products become more appealing together than apart.
This is what sets LoN apart from station cash. You are getting a second product, problem is most people do not enjoy the secondary product. The MMO only players just want the benefits and don't care much for the secondary product. The MMO only players are so desperate for these benefits that they will totally ignore LoN and spend money on just the Loot.
So for me as a customer of both brands I feel like I'm getting the full benefits, while people who don't enjoy LoN or can't afford it won't get those benefits.

Re: Your reaction to LON Zone Thing?
Now, we don't know how to complete the quest. It might auto complete when killing the last mob or clicking on the last group update. If that's the case, the keyholder just needs to be aware and be careful to leave before that happens.

Re: Your reaction to LON Zone Thing?
They created the zone, so even if they are not present, when the zone is "completed", the saved instance zone will lockout. Ripple effect.
We saw this on Butcherblock when a PuR did Tairiza but failed to kill the named. They left and one of the assholes who was present on this raid brought his RAID GUILD into the zone later on and killed her. Everyone who was there on the original PuR got a lockout, and she was dead in their instance, even though they weren't even logged on when she was killed.

That says the quest is shareable and that everyone can complete it. Furthermore, the key holder can hold off completing the quest and run all of their friends through the zone.

Yeah I can see how you would think that... and maybe that is true. I just took it as "Going through the quest" means doing the zone, but didn't necessarily mean they had the quest shared to them.
Example? I'm doing claymore, and my buddy is going to help me out... yet he's not on the quest. He can go through it with me, IE same zones, kill the same mobs, but he's not gonna get a claymore reward at the end.
Thats how I took it.

I agree. My interpretation was the exact same. Non key holders will get to run the zone, get the AA and get chest loot (if applicable) but will not be able to have the quest and get the final item.
