Your reaction to LON Zone Thing?

Like this poll in December 2008, I am making this to see what 'Flames thinks of the LON Zone thingies from LON... stuff.

I posted why this is a stupid idea: it is controversial, it was announced after three new MMORPGs were released (well, mostly Aion, nobody gives a fuck about Fallen Earth and Champions Online,) SOE should tread light ever since that dumbass SWG fiasco and, frankly it makes me wonder how far it'll go. I enjoy EQ2; yes, but I wonder if SOE's trying to be THE trolls of MMORPGs.

EDIT: Ah fuck I didn't add in a poll while I intended to. If a mod could add a poll like with "This idea is good" "This idea is OK" "Don't Care" "This idea is lame" "This sucks I canceled" options that could be great. Otherwise this is about your reactions and not a discussing on how it works.

Essentially, they key is just a single quest reward for the person who gets the loot card. Just instead of claiming the item, they claim a key that makes them run an easy zone first and THEN get the item.

None of the mobs in the zone drop loot, and nobody other than the person who claimed the key can get any reward, so I don't think it's going to be an issue.

At the moment, I'm indifferent. The quest giver in the LoN musaem made me a tad uneasy, but it doesn't bother me enough to hate it.

Of course, if an instance pops up next expansion and I need an LoN card to access it, then I will be pretty pissed.

Provided that the last step in this zone is not completed, the key holder can access the zone multiple times with anyone they are grouped with. Individual group members do not have to have a copy of the key to go in with a friend who does. When I ran the zone the only loot drop (beyond a few silver off the bodies of the trash mobs) was the final reward.

Once the last step is completed and the final reward is claimed, the key is consumed and the zone will be inaccessible to the key holder.

So one person could get the key and run the entire server through... yeah that pretty much makes this a non-issue in my book.

Here is what I'm gathering from what Kiara said... and I think others are missing.

There is nothing to gain from going in the zone unless you are the original key owner. Mobs don't drop loot, and the only piece of loot gained from the key owner who completes the quest. She doesn't say that the quest is shareable.

I have read this 3 times and its pretty hard to take it any other way.
