Re: Contested or Not Contested?
EQ1 imo, had some of the best raiding content I had been involved in since I played from launch, everything (excluding LDON of course) from your actual God's and the realms they dwelled in was contested, and in the brink of these expansions you could imagine the hell people went through to obtain the items they anticipated. With that being said, it also drove a lot of people to join higher end guilds to be reassured of those items, first come first serve, and may the best Guild stand last...With the most gear.
I am so tired of shit being handed to inferior, casual players just because they complain about not being able to harvest enough play-time to equip their toon in some of the best gear obtainable for a raider. And as things get nerfed down, I'd rather them be made harder, even when a new expansion arrives, keep inferior Guilds stuck on the content they were unable to pass in the previous expansion, rather than nerfing the encounters down to a point in which PUR's can successfully defeat an encounter.
Although I do enjoy doing my daily spread of EQ2 TSO instances in the morning, I also have never enjoyed a game as much as contested EQ1 raiding content, and it would be a shame if they drew away with that content completely here in EQ2.
And also, wasn't the Hole supposed to be a T9 SOS on crack anyhow? With contested mobs per every wing/level of the zone varying in different difficulties? That's what they need to be doing, contested raiding zones and heroic zones with epic content and a nice loot table and an excessively long respawn timer to keep everyone on their toes camping for days ;-)
