Raid Macro Lag?

I've recently been told that combat macros can and do cause major combat/zone lag. Never heard this before and while i personally dont use combat macros others in raid would like to. Hopefully someone has some idea on this, search doesnt seem to be working for me either, heh.

Uhm, think about it. You send multiple commands to the server at the same time, and the server has to read/respond to them all. It creates extra load on the servers, thus creating lag.

Yes, that is true. They have said numerous times that large macros cause a very large spike to the server. Anytime that I use my macros to swap between heal and dps gear on my fury, I notice a stutter in responsiveness.

So 99% of all casters in the game are causing huge amounts of lag with their "click 1 button dps" is what your saying?

Just be happy .. I think the lag issue is what really killed the fighter revamp. Too many tanks making a single taunt button :P

QFE. Any player that thinks that they are going to do efficient dps with a 1 button macro is a fucking idiot. I wouldn't invite anyone like that to my raid.
