I've been asking for a winged mount with the featherfall effect and hovers like a carpet ... but nobody listens to me

The highland stalker will be a cat of some kind is my best bet

The blood elf racial mounts from WoW were pretty gay, I can see why you'd like one. Spider would be pretty hot though.

I am not sure how many people here know me from the official forums but I am the guy that dishes out all the info on the expansions before SoE announces anything (post as Vulkoor over there). I have done this for the last 3 expansions, calling each correctly. I even called Odus for SF 2 weeks before the announcement. Just some notes I have gathered from the vpaks regarding the expansion so far-

This expansion is very heavy in traditional Sword and Sorcery. Several of the new models are very traditional fantasy and should be familiar to anyone who plays D&D-

Chimera (the “skeletal dog with wings” is a skeleton chimera)
Cerberus
Catoblepas
Medusa (though they are Nayad variants, so they have eels for Hair)
Nayad
Ettin
Beholders (not just mechanical ones, and they are new models)
Wickermen
Shambling Mounds (model was used in Hollow Hedge)
Coeurls (Displacer Beasts)
Ropers
Boneyards (animated bonepiles)
Gorgons (the iron bull)

There are also several Sentient races in this expansion-

Goatmen
Erudites (Eq1 variety)
Talonites (they look like tattooed stonemen)
Stone/Crystalline people
Coldaine (that is how they are spelt in the files)
Frost Giants (a la the Kunark invasion force)
Roekilik (the SOGA ratonga)
Pandamen

There are also at least 2 Dragons-

Toxxulia
Sea Dragon

For new mounts-
6 different floating disk models

And the big void baddie- Rhoen Theer has 2 models (they are seen in the SF logo)

As far as zones, I see references to the following-

The two overland zones announced
Erudin Research Labs
The Sentinel
The Hole

Also, although there are no new spells in this expansion, it seems like they are revamping the graphics for all existing spells.

If anyone has any other questions feel free to ask and I will see what I can find out. I can’t speak to mechanics, only the files being patched out to our computers, since they have already begun doing this (and actually started in May of this year).

Hope this helps...

I am not sure if its possible but if you claim they are revamping PC spell effects. Is it possible to move PC spell effects to the GPU. If NPC spell effects need to be tied to animations then NPC spell effects can stay on the CPU. Which also should allows Players the options of controlling the amount of NPC and PC spell effects and quality separately.

I think you misunderstand me, Gungo. When I say redoing the spell graphics, I mean that all the PC class spell animations are being redone, similar to what they did in EQ1 many years ago. This has nothing to do with how the client handles the effects or graphics, only the animation associated with a given spell/CA.

Hibernation has to be one of the worst spell effects visually in the game.

Well check out the halfling in the left of this screencap from the official EQ site:

Looks super duper original. My guess is that's called the "Ultra-Grandmaster's Tunic of Storms"

No new spells? They raise the level cap to 90 finally, and we're still stuck with only the shit we got in RoK at 80?

That sucks.
