Why "proddies" don't play on the test server

Since my post got deleted five minutes after I made it on the official forums, I'm gonna put it here.

Friend on Najena and I who both play on test regularly were discussing in the test channel ways to deal with plat spammers. Test channel, as usual, decided that the way to fix it was for us to quit playing on live because live sucks, and to move to test. It degenerated into an argument, although a mild one compared to live, believe me.

SOE, I know you read this forum.. if you want live players on test, then get rid of the elitist testers that you know you have on test. They're supposed to be testing content that makes it to live. They're not able to do that job, because they don't play the way we do. They don't use the broker system for the most part. They don't raid for the most part. They don't do the usual things the way the live servers do, and they will be the first to tell you they LIKE it that way and have no intention of changing the way THEIR server works.

I'm sick of it. Log to follow, if it's not too big, log to follow in a few minutes if it is and i have to edit it yet again.

I agree on the state of the test server. It's dominated by know it all's who don't do much outside of noob content, but then act like channel Nazis. Makes the test server very unpleasant - the culture on Test should be flushed.

haha yea i rolled a toon on test once back right before DoF too test the char changes too paladins and rangers that were going in (big ones that i was rather worried about), and i just couldnt stand the people there. i ended up just giving up on it and waiting till i got into DoF beta too test things out. they act like they're gods of the game, and blame all the "issues" in the game on live players bitching about all the "gread ideas" they get added too the game. I noticed the test server kids are sort of stuck up. Albeit, I don't log in there unless there is content I wanna check out, but it doesn't do much for encouraging people to play there when it can get so hostile.

they should offer transfers to test. just remove our plat or something when we xfer. I would love to be able to test stuff but dont feel the need to level a character again.

I've been playing quite a bit on test the past two months (even before the whole Arasai announcement) and it has been quite an eye opener. I whole heartedly agree with the original poster. I have a list of issues with the test server.

One of the largest issues I have is one the OP brought up, that being the Test server community is very elitist. This is NOT an enviroment that is productive to the enviroment you try to advertise for you test server. It is so far from a Live server and if you even suggest it should change you are the Devil incarnate. It is their server and they like it the way it is. Guess what? It is supposed to be the test server... Ya know, the server that replicates Live servers to test content? What replication of it is a Live server? There is no economy, there is nothing even remotely to the quality of gear and spells on players on test that there is on live, and to be honest (not to insult any though I'm sure some will take it as such) the test server community just doesn't understand the game or its mechanics. Not only that, there is zero communication between test and live servers. There is no raiding on test (I'm sorry, raiding Labs and still not clearing when we are 6 months into the next expansion and pick up raids on live servers do more zones than that) is not raiding by any stretch of the immagination. There is no supply of gear on test to choose from, there is no way to make money (if you actually try to sell something for much more than it vendors you are a price gouger and should be shunned). There is no accurate test of high end content because the people test drool over gear you could give away for free on live (literally no exageration).

That isn't to say everyone on test isn't great and nice people, because most of them are, but that doesn't make that enviroment the right enviroment to test content.

I could say some more shit right here but while it would be true it would just stir up a lot of shit, and consequently I want to be part of the solution not the problem. Hence I'm trying to level up characters on test (oh yea, no population and having to solo to level ftl). I'm still going to particpate and try to bridge the severe communication gap, but there is only so much one person can do, especially when I will never dream of giving up a live server to play exclusively in this dump that doesn't reflect the game at all.

I'm sure I've got more to say but it is raid time.

If you ever need any plat on Test, just let me know lol, I have a good bit there.

Problem is, there is squat to spend it on. There is virtually nothing on the broker.

Try starting up an alt there and even buying app IV's, it just aint gonna happen for a large number of classes.
