Here you go LFG, found it off the FBI's website. Hope it helps, if you really want to take it that far.

Thanks, but that website is for reporting fraud, scams, blackmail, extortion, etc.
That's not whats happening. We are just being bombarded with denial of service attacks, the motive is not clear.
If the person doing this would be so kind as to send me an email asking for money or basically anything to stop doing this, THEN we would have EXTORTION, and I'd be able to seek assistance through that website.
There is a HUGE difference between merely fucking with someone, and doing so for financial gain.

And that's why the person won't send you an email. Because they aren't doing it for money. They are doing it just because they can.

Recent analysis suggests that the blackmail practice is dying. The reason is that there is no profit in it. If the person you try to blackmail you tells you to go fuck yourself, your only options are to either not attack, which means others will ignore you in the future as well, or tie up your resources in attacking someone who is not going to pay you anyway. A lose-lose situation.
Someone with enough sophistication could use a botnet to do the DDOS attack. Someone with no sophistication but has some money could hire an organization with a botnet to do the same.

I think your wrong their. Scripting isn't hard, it likely is a bot set to do exactly as you described in short bursts while changing gate ways so as not to be as easily caught.

Re: Denial of Service attacks resume
DoS shit is so easy to do, any little fucking script kiddie can google shit and find out info in 10 mins.
If they aren't doing anything other then slowing the site down, just let them be and they will go away....but when you bring up posts like this, it shows that they are making an impact and they will continue to do it.
The majority of the time script kiddies just want attention, posts like this give that to them. Nobody in there right mind would ever send someone an email if they are the one's doing this.
Just my 2 cents...

Agreed, any idiot with a "how to hack - for Dummies" can do it, Script it, and leave it.
They arent so smart they could easily get jobs in the industry. DoS is just spam, its hardly even a real Hack. Find some one that actually hacks the site and gives themselves Admin powers then sure, they could "Maybe" be smart enough for a job.
Smart enough to at least work for Vbulletin exposing weaknesses.

Re: Denial of Service attacks resume
They wouldn't need to hack vbulletin to get admin rights, they can simply hack the server. Though thats even more complicated.
