I am a predator and this is not a whine or self hating question. I very much enjoy playing. But if you take a step back and look over the arch type of Predator and compare that with a Rogue, you can not help but come to the conclusion that Rogues are far superior in every way.

We all know when it comes to DPS, it just depends on group set up, and encounter type and any DPS class and top the dps parses. There is very little significant difference in DPS class, DPS. The DPS tier thing as we know was revoked and not valid. Player skill and group set up really determine who is on top now, not class for the most part.

Rogues --- PVP and solo way better, its not even close. They offer massive debuffs that raids can’t live without. They have utilities and hate transfer and AE abilities that make Assassins cry. They can do everything a predator can do and much more.

So why predators then? I really think if you make and arch type in a game like EQ, there has to be some sort of vision for that arch type. I don’t currently see a vision. The official stance is that predators are not in a higher DPS tier and we can see this in game play.

I am hoping with RoK this question can be answered. Predators need their own line of abilities that is different then a rogues. OR let Predators betray to a rogue class.

The question is, what is the vision of the archetype class Predator, what is the purpose of having one when there are rogues?

If they did that, they'd have to let Summoners betray to Enchanters, or Druids betray to clerics. That most likely wouldn't work.

Predators exist because any race can be any class, as well as the game basically being realm vs realm, good vs evil. Predators and every other bastardized class in EQ2 is the result of giving the players to much freedom, its what people asked for and its what they got.

I wonder if sony has any plans to produce any other games, rather then just buying everyone else's and feeding off the remains... they have so many failures their bound to learn what works and what doesnt and should be due for a blockbuster IMO.

I have yet to see a rogue parse 3.5k zonewides with extended dps. Ranger > Assassins > Swashbucklers > Brigands when it comes down to dps.

Ask anyone on here if all the classes where given prefect groups who would parse higher.

I play a brig and took some work and a lot of testing for me to figure out how to crack 2k on the parse. I tooled around on an assassin once and i could see how much more i could do with it vs the brig. But i love my brig, even thou i am an alt-whore.
