I fell into Feltrak's thinking... the pet champions are more fair and therefore more fun.

Plus if you stick to using the pets only, you can do things like have a universal cross-server arena because there's no overhead of copying everyone's inventories and spell lines every time they enter.

It's been literally months since I've done the Arena, and I'd love an excuse to go back.

I wish the current arena followed the PVP rule set. Stuns and Mezes at full duration suck!

The server wide arena is an awesome fucking idea. The problem is now that if you go to your servers arena no one ever has a room so you basically always have to ask (or even beg ha) people to come. With a server wide you have a much larger population of people trying to use the arena which could possibly allow for more games to be open for people to join.

And yeah wish SOE would add alot more thought to it because arena games are always a blast, or until the one guy who loses alot whines and leaves hah.

I voted no b/c i wouldnt go to it. I dont go to the ones now.

that being said i think it would be an insanely good idea for people who like to pvp and especially since you can go against people on other servers.

but if i want pvp ill play a fps

what about people on pvp servers mingling with pve servers...would this open gear up to pve servers that wouldnt normally be avialable? would you still keep them separate? just adding some more tidbits for discussion.

I have always thought a PVP flagged area would be amazing aka an open arena just walk in and start fighting. So for this! though cross server really doesn't seem to be needed.

Open Areas that are PvP enabled are dumb, the Arena is all that is needed to be expanded upon and made cross-server, and larger scale than 6v6.

Hell if I had my way I've put poker tables in the NQ inn basement with buy-ins and bets made with eq2 coin and items. I'll raise you... a Wand of Crystalized Plasma!

Well I was thinking, and they could make the whole zone a registration, such as the arena in game now, but inside there would be the pvp area/platform and a safe area around it, this would be for complete pvp of everyone vs everyone. Also though, there could be 9 different doors to register at inside the main arena area, for a 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, 6v6, and even raids, x2vx2, x3vx3, x4vx4. Option of different maps for the team arena's, but there wouldn't be any of the stupid heal/mana pots nor power-ups. And as for pvp servers being able to converge in this arena, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to, perhaps put the pvp gear merchants in the safe area. I guess then they would need to make copies of everyones characters, so no need for a zone from the main servers. So then every server would have a replica of this arena for server pvping, which would be linked from every major city.

Edit: Also a 6v6v6v6v6 ect. type arena, grps vs grps basically. Also a whole new server would be needed to create a zone which anyone from any server can go to pretty much, perhaps too complicated to make work without lag.

Many different ways to do this, I am sure soe could come up with something though.
