Re: EoF
I've played a grand total of 5 MMO games so far. Yeah, that's right count 'em. FIVE!! :D I've seen crap go wrong with them and things that need to be changed, but as far as EQ2 goes, I've never had a major problem with it. I consider some of the problems it's had/has to be like personality quirks (like when the sharks used to chase you across the land after you got out of the water. Stupid? Absolutely, but MAN was it hilarious to watch someone trucking across a desert with a shark hot on your heels!) and don't see the game as being unsalvagable or even as bad as a lot of people believe it to be. I think it's around for awhile, and as long as it's here (and SOE doesn't come up with a FUCKING BRILLIANT idea of NGE for it), I'll be in EQ2.

Let's at least give it a fair shot before deciding. :smiley-happy:

Re: EoF
I have always gone with the aspect that if your looking for the next expansion to *save* the game, then it's time to go. It's one thing to have a view that the new expansion will spark further interest in the game that you already enjoy, however the chance of playing a Fae still comes down to doing the same old game with a new face.
The general mechanics of the game won't be all that drastically changed. If you find it dull now, odds are you will still find it dull after the luster of the expansion wears off so better to save the $29.95 and buy something else.
Funny things is, the same went with the Tradeskills for the most part. The people that could not stand to stay 5 hours in front of a Forge for a level get bored spending 1 hour at the forge to level. Most the people I know that were into TSing made more TS alts, those I know that disliked TSing gave it a shot and lost interest.

Re: EoF
I'm definately hoping that EoF doesn't suck. There are way too many people in the community that have been saying it's SoE's "last chance" for SoE not to realize it. They haven't done too much marketting for it overall, but there is supposed to be an assload of content / changes being implemented. That, in my opinion, is a good sign. All too frequently they've marketted expansions more than necessary, in both EQs, only for them to tank shortly thereafter. KoS was a huge let down overall. Relic basically killed the game, and unfortunately, they couldn't really go back on the idea after it was implemented. Overall, I'm saying this is a last chance for SoE, but I'm definately going to play it out for quite a while, and experience all EoF has to offer, before I can say that I'll be fully let down.

Re: EoF
Ask me in a few months when they try and "balance" the classes again. I have a pretty decent list of alts to play if they screw with the Warden class once more. And when they screw with the classes I play to the point where it's not fun anymore, then I move on.
